AUSTRALIA- Most HONEST cricket team!
Ricky Ponting and his 'mates'(in fact it should be cell mates)have shown the world how to be honest.I think it is very important for players of any game and country to follow the Aussie way of winning. Even hard core crooks would bow with reverence to Ricky and his cell mates except of course Gilly ( Adam Gilchrist) who is a fine Christian.Maybe Gilly belongs to a lineage of people sent to guard the traitors and convicts sent to the continent of Australia from England way back in history.
What surprises everyone in the cricketing fraternity is what made Steve Bucknor "The impotent" Umpire from West Indies to side with the Crooks-Aussies.Of course Mark Benson the other umpire officiating was one of THEM and therefore does not merit any debate.
Sad to say that cricket has degraded to such low levels from a gentleman's game. Aussies had introduced aggression which was met tit for tat by the Indians, and now dishonesty has crept into the game courtesy the Aussies which reminds us of the jungle rule- Survival of the fittest-Ooops.. the cunning!!!!
BRAVO AUSTRALIA- KEEP UP YOUR REPUTATION.!!!
PS: Please don't brand me RACIST. Harbhajan Singh already has that tag on him. I'll take turns with him after his hearing in AUSTRALIA this week.
reminds me of good old school days......
the big school bully would bully classmates and if someone reciprocates in style..... he would complain to the teacher....
... teacher teacher.... he is teasing me....
exactly what is happening in cricket........
See the scenario:
1 match - 2 teams
One side with 11 players
another side with 15 players
Best is 9 mistakes committed to win. Shows the desperation.

Turbanator gets thumbs up from Aussie fans
Bangalore: Ricky Ponting or Andrew Symonds may have reported Harbhajan Singh’s comment and the ICC match referee may have interpreted it as a racial slur. However, the Australian cricket fans believe that their team’s behaviour was a result of an inability to stomach sledging from a fiesty Indian though they have themselves dished it out to visiting teams for decades.
Fans who took part in online surveys and posted their comments on websites have been upset by the Australian behaviour during their victory over India at the SCG, with some columnists even questioning their boorish behaviour and asking Ricky Ponting and his men to address their image problem before the Perth test that begins in ten days time.
The online survey conducted by the Sydney Morning Herald showed that only a meagre 14 per cent of the respondents actually believed that Bhajji deserved it. Nearly 40 per cent of the over 12,000 surfers who took part in the poll thought otherwise and felt the Aussies were good at dishing out verbal volleys but lacked the stomach to take a few blows themselves.
Well-known columnist Mike Coward, writing in The Australian says that Ponting, who is customarily self-contained on the field and off it, has been feeling the pressure of the occasion and remains incensed at being seen at Bhajji’s bunny, the off-spinner having knocked him over on all four occasions in this series so far.
Thus distracted, the Australian captain has joined forces with two other headstrong players – Mathew Hayden and Andrew Symonds – to play it hard. “For some of this match, they went too hard, much like Harbhajan,” wrote Coward in his article adding that it was this hardness that translated into boorishness and arrogance. “It is to be earnestly hoped that for the rest of this series, the elite cricketers of Australia and India treat each other and the Test match game with more respect,” he said.
Several respondents went on to question whether the term allegedly used by Harbhajan against Symonds actually had racist overtones. “Is Monkey a racist term, if it is, we best be careful never refer to anyone being as drunk as a monkey again. To my way of thinking, monkey is name calling, offensive at worst , racist never,” writes a fan who calls himself Circling Buzzard on the website of The Australian
Mistakes happen once.. twice is sometimes pardonable.
Three mistakes for reaching the same goal means it has become a habbit. And habbit in this match by umpires speakes itself of a gr8 messy back room setting done between the teams, members.
It was a real cricker though that Chappel from commentators room sounded alarm bells for all cricket lovers.
More than three mistakes by both the umpires in a single match... and you still think these are mistakes. This bloody batch should be declared Nul&void.

and his brothers formed the rest of the team, but I NEVER understood the principles of the game.
For anyone who REALLY wants to yawn their way through a Saturday afternoon, sitting in a deckchair, supping tea and eating egg sandwiches, here are the Rules of Cricket!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Australia did play a direct part in one of the false decisions wherein Benson asked Ponting about the catch and Ponting told him that the catch had been taken. That was a crucial blow given the form Ganguly has been in recently and he was all set for another gem in the second innings. That really turned the match on its head...
Give them more fosters.....They dont have the right sportsman spirit....
Its worth the criticism
It is no fault of the australian team if the decisions of the umpires went in their favor. No I dont think that the australians would have bribed the umpires. I guess this kind of bad umpiring decisons happen in Cricket all the time and it becomes a much bigger issue when records are broken due to the bad umpiring decisions. Anyways it cannot be expected from the umpires not to commit even one mistake.
I'd call it luck that australia won. The title of this thread should have been Bad Umpiring Decisions and the criticism should have been directed at the umpires not at the australians. After all umpires made the wrong decisions not the australian team. I believe everytime wants to win and specially in international matches winning becomes much more important.
The big question here is had the bad umpiring decisions gone in favor of India and against australia, would india have protested and tried to rectify the blunders committed by the umpires???
Australia 16 in a Row:)
Australia Rules. Same old story for Indians.
A match which could easily belong to indian team went in Australian team favour. Thanks to Mr. Bucknor some poor decisions which costed India a series lose.
I think India played very well through out the first four days but could not keep up the game in the last session.
Winning in Cricket carries no value. the way you play is the main thing. i think Indian played very well and they deserve to win the game.
I am not indian but would cheer india for their good game. Australia is the best team but they don't have sports man spirit. I hate them for their lack of sports man spirit.
thats why I'm a footie guy... football is more fun playing and cricket is more fun watching...
and thats my damn ring finger.
[img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
you are right about one thing, it is a dangerous sport... the leather ball is very hard... and usually there are fielders standing very close to the batsman in directions where the ball usually gets hit. People have died after getting hit on the head but not international players though... even batsmen at the international level get hit on the head and go down immediately...
yea ok 30meter but that doesnt mean you keep standing there when the baller takes off the fielder starts coming forward so you will be near dont worry.
am sure scar as soon he reaches jauntie she will kick him backwards.
[img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
wind up getting his head taken off with the bat due to not paying attention to the gaem but paying attention to jauntie's skirts..
who do you think I am DaRuDe?? Superman??
thats about 30mtrs....
try to ball fast make sure you do help the wicket keeper . try to jump towards the swinging ball not on the keeper hashin
[img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
I'll field at fine leg... :-)
(for the noncricket people, that position is behind the wicketkeeper)
with the size the dress gets even more shorter :D
[img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
skirt up...they'd be on the ground
you made much more sense than jauntie...(typical tho!! love ya jaunts!!)
chupa..would be more than happy to explain baseball to you sometime
you know they dont stand they bend down the wicket keepers.
now what if the air from behind blows her skirt UP :D
[img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
the long skirt can be very useful to stop the byes (sorry if its too technical)
haaaaalllllllloooooo there chick
how are you doing ok i choose jauntie as a wicket keeper. ah lady make sure you dont fly away with the ball.
[img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
That explanation is probably about right!
Howdy back - will catch up soon.
Here's a rather simplistic explanation from wikipedia...
read it and then ask whatever questions you have...
Cricket is a bat-and-ball sport contested by two teams, usually of eleven players each.[1] A cricket match is played on a grass field, roughly oval in shape, in the centre of which is a flat strip of ground 22 yards (20.12 m) long, called a cricket pitch. A wicket, usually made of wood, is placed at each end of the pitch.
The bowler, a player from the fielding team, bowls a hard, fist-sized cricket ball from the vicinity of one wicket towards the other. The ball usually bounces once before reaching the batsman, a player from the opposing team. In defence of the wicket, the batsman plays the ball with a wooden cricket bat. Meanwhile, the other members of the bowler's team stand in various positions around the field as fielders, players who retrieve the ball in an effort to stop the batsman scoring runs, and if possible to get him or her out. The batsman — if he or she does not get out — may run between the wickets, exchanging ends with a second batsman (the "non-striker"), who has been waiting near the bowler's wicket. Each completed exchange of ends scores one run. Runs are also scored if the batsman hits the ball to the boundary of the playing area. The match is won by the team that scores more runs.
And who can explain baseball game to me
that made about as much sense as if I'd spun around in circles and tried to walk straight...
and HOWDY!!!!! sure do miss your cheerful face here...get yourself back!!!
see my post above LMAO
on why some people hate cricket so much?
I love just about any sport and enjoy it...but do have to admit to loving those short shorts or tight pants that the players wear in just about any sport...that's why i love to watch the American football players huddle up...
I would love to understand more of the game of cricket tho...anyone want to teach me the finer points??
In the middle of cooking Sunday (late) lunch here - couldn't resist that explanation of cricket for my Colonial chum ;)
So you will now have to broaden your generalization even further...
Cricket - As explained to a foreigner
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.
Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.
When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.
Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.
When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.
This is the second time Aussies have won 16 tests in a row apart from winning three world cups in a row. They didnt do it if it was by cheating alone. They are undoubtedly much better team than any other cricket team in the world today.
you watch the game or the players leg???
by the way i am openner and fast baller myself.
and i still can play well so guys when should we set up a friendly match.
[img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
I told you Australia is infested with crooks, bandits and convicts thrown out of England. Clarke and Ponting are just two among them.
Mark Benson is the new addition to it!!!
my way of looking at it is this...get a boat paddle, large field that look rather like a baseball field..but only use 2 bases...one guy that runs from where 2nd base should be, but is actually the pitcher...and the batter who is confused enough to run only between the two bases instead of all 4...NOW you know why I don't follow cricket..but have to say..the players usually have great legs...
This is how the aliens understood cricket !!!
Two aliens were visiting Earth to research the local customs.
They split up so that they could learn more in the time allowed.
When they met to share their knowledge, the first alien told of a religious ceremony it had seen.
"I went to a large green field shaped like a meteorite crater. Around the edges, several thousand worshippers gathered. Then two priests walk to the centre of the field to a rectangular area and hammer six spears into the ground, three at each end. Then eleven more priests walk out, clad in white robes. Then two high priests wielding clubs walk to the centre and one of the other priests starts throwing a red orb at the ones with the clubs."
"Gee," replied the other alien, "what happens next?"
"Then it begins to rain."
Can you believe that so many bad decisions went against India and that too at crucial points of the game!!
Day 1: # Australian skipper Ricky Ponting nicked a Sourav Ganguly delivery going the leg side to wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Ponting, who was at 17, did not walk as Benson turned down the Indians' appeal. The skipper went on to score 55 before being ironically given out leg before despite getting an inside edge.
# Then came the blunder which probably changed the course of the match. All rounder Andrew Symonds edged Ishant Sharma to Dhoni but to the horror of the fielding side, Bucknor remained unmoved. Symonds was given another reprieve when the third umpire shockingly erred in giving him not out on a stumping appeal. The right hander went on to score an unbeaten 162 to take Australia to safety after being 134 for six.
Day 2: # Another escape for Symonds as Bucknor turns down a close stumping appeal without consulting the third umpire.
Day 3: # One of the rare umpiring blunders that went India's way as Sachin Tendulkar survived a close leg before shout when on 38 before going on to score his 38th Test hundred.
Day 4: Benson turns down an Anil Kumble appeal for a leg before against Michael Hussey despite the ball hitting the batsman's pads plumb in front. Hussey was on 22.
# Benson is at it again, Hussey edged one from RP Singh to Dhoni but both the batsman and the umpire were unmoved. Hussey was on 45 at that time and went on to score an unbeaten 145.
# Having taken Hayden and Clarke in consecutive deliveries, Kumble seemed to have got his hat-trick after having Symonds trapped LBW but Bucknor says no. Symonds scored 61.
Day 5: # Probably the most horrifying day for the Indians, Bucknor gives Rahul Dravid caught behind of Symonds despite the ball missing the bat by miles.
# Sourav Ganguly is caught at slips by Michael Clarke but the catch appeared to have come off the ground. However, instead of going to the third umpire, Benson checks with Ponting, who quite expectedly calls it clean.
The particular piece about India's loss to Australia is good. Read it only if you find time !!!
BTW, I am not a Mukul Kesavan fan by any chance, just happened to read it today and found it interesting - thats all.
Qatexpat: if we find time to do anything other than QL.. then will be Mr. Kesavan's blog
[img_assist|nid=60386|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
Read Mukul Kesavan's blog on cricinfo. Very entertaining...
[img_assist|nid=60386|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
Ponting does not have any holes to go for cover and thats why they are taking on Bajji. At least that way he can avoid the inevitable tag-"Bajji's Bunny".By the way his holes are sore too..
bajji does balling
while i do bowling
there is diff.
now are you coming or should i drag you out from ur bill tomorrow :/
[img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]

It is a game and let the last day of it give the result. Or is it Aussi's have started shivering at the thought of facing Bajji's bowling.
Daru: Not your vity center bowling.
[img_assist|nid=60386|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
I am expecting more from people. Aren't there enough cricket lovers from India here? If not let the INCREDIBLE INEDIBLE AUSSIES take over.. By the way why are these GRAPES SWEET AND SOUR?
BOOHOO! BOOHOO!!!!!!!!!
Daru... dont mix the two games.
One is indoors and the other is outdors..

[img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
haddoc.U dont act like ICC refree and hold Bajji responsible when the hearing is still not open.
U were not on the field and noway near the them to hear the conversation they held.
SO chill buddy untill one hears the oficial word. As far as the field umpires are concerned... they did not hear anyting.. then howcome you heard the actual story.
I like Aussi team as I like the sport. Dont jump the gun yet.
[img_assist|nid=60386|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
People will say, "SOUR GRAPES" because India lost the test !!!
