There was this tribal Chief who, upon entering the tepee, declared: "Her name is Blooming Lily!". His youngest son protested:"Why is that father?" He placed his loving hands on his shoulders and said: "Son, it is our tribal tradition to name the child on the first thing that a father sees outside the tepee after a child is born. So your brothers I named 'Raging Bull' and 'Soaring Eagle'. Now your sister is 'Blooming Lily'. Now, tell me your problem 'Shitting Dog'?" :)

We were too young in school to know that. It was to be a lot of years before we finally understood that. But by that time, sadly, me was in a different school.

But it never got me over the sadness. Once there was a performance in school and after it, the teacher gently prodded us to 'clap'. Off she shot off her chair and screamed at the top of her voice "yes teacher" and that was when everyone around her clapped.

I wouldnt want to be in her shoes.

jauntie.. Lol...

it's true. Daylight's bro and sister has a second name with the 'light' word.

Kidding aside, naming your baby is one of the toughest decision a mom can do.

I remembered making a list 4 months in advance. Checking out meanings, and how it rhymes with my surname, name after my father..

I even considered China Sy.. eheheh (you know, when you are in a good humor mood).

I ended up naming my baby Shannon. I think she'll like it, and won't get back to me for that. And this i decided, on the day I gave birth, and got a call from my former boss. As soon as he uttered the word Shannon over the phone... ahh that's it.

But you know, My folks pronounced it as is, Shannon. Shld be,Shannen... hehehehe

naming your kids with such names. They'll hate you for that...lol

BTW, Hollywood celebrities name their kids weird name as well. I think Bruce Willis & Demi Moore's children have weird names as well...

My kids Frogmella and Riprock thought it was just silly.

I agree with the New Zealand government. Saves them time and energy when the kid decides to change his name later in life. :P
