Bengali workers

londonalgiers
By londonalgiers

This is the story of two Bengali men who saved me and my family from living a nightmare.
It stated one early morning last week. My wife, I and our 2 month old daughter were leaving our compound to go to Al-Gharrafa Health Centre in order to get our little princess vaccinated. What I didn't realise is that, when I was putting my daughter in her car seat, I did something I never do, I put my folder and my wallet on top of the car roof. In the folder there was every single paper, documents, all our passports, birth certificates, basically any odd bit of paper was in there. Our whole lives. In the wallet 400QR and credits cars.
I started the car, my wife got in and off we went, only to realise what I'd done when i reached the Health Centre.
I drove back the way we came and back a few times but no folder or waller to be seen.
I gave up after 2 hours and decided to go to the Police, they asked me to wait a couple of days and maybe it will show up at a police station. I went back home, having lost all hope that anything would be recovered and started thinking about the dreadful scenario of trying to replace everything. The time it would take, and the fact that we wouldn't be able to do anything, no vaccinations, no travelling, nothing.
On my way back home, wife calls me and says someone miss called her, when she called back it she couldn’t understand the person on the other end, I noted the number called him from the Car. It was a Bengali guy he explained in broken Arabic that he and his colleague had found a wallet and a folder near AlGharrafa stadium roundabout, they went through all the papers and found my wife's number on a form. I arranged to meet them in Al-Rayan and they gave me the folder and wallet with all their original contents.
I thanked them and I gave them 100 QR each, which they refused, I insisted and asked them both to save my number, I saved theirs.
I just wanted to share this story about two Bengali workers who prove that there are still people with honesty and integrity regardless of Race or Religion. These two men were your average low salary workers.
Ramadan Karim.

londonalgiers,

BTW londonalgiers, can you please share what opinion you had about Bengalis' before you came across these 2 bengali workers?

U havnt answered the question and very smartly tried to change the topic draging salax85's post in between which is not at all racist..Please..that was childish..

U kno wat londonalgiers, instead of doing all this, u could have just justified what u meant and appologized if people thought u were racist.. y go arguing and fighting about the whole thing.. Its Ramadan..for gods sake..

londonalgiers,

hey common ,,now accept the fact that u failed to phrase the sentence apart from being a very nice person,, so why be so stubborn,,, QL still has the option of editing postes,,,if u know how to do that then u dont have to argue anymore,,,

and.. why care about what salax85 posted ,,will that change your poste for justification and make it even on levels of racial discriminations,,,?

ok peace to all of u in this forum ,,,apologize for being rude/misunderstanding/fool to all or anyone hear.

peace.

There are also "high salaried" honest people, and sleazy financially- poor individuals. Financial status is irrelevant, I believe.

I've seen very generous financially-mediocre people, and stingy misers who live in summer mansions.

yea ...it my habbit toread alittle too much. i open my eyes and read with common sense..i dont have to take the effort of openning mind...or maybe ur mind is open way too much that ur thoughts are lost between u and the "omg the BENGALIS" lol. i know u have pointed out carefully where they were from...so that others also gain some info abt that race.okay fine they were nice ppl..or did u meet nice ppl the first tym...so u had to write abt it...oohhh so now u got emotionall ,,ha?if u wer then do care abt sensitive people if u r 1.i also wish the 2 gentlemen a warming and blessing ramadan...may god bless you 2 and inshallah be forever.

and i dont have to be carefull because my opinion is not ur business...

220v, you are reading too much into this. There is not nothing racial about my thread, if you read what I wrote again with an open mind you will realise that it is nothing to do with race, I actually point that out in my thread. I do not care about sensitive people when i write my story, the two gentleman who helped me have a better ramadan were BENGALIS and that is a fact nothing more nothing else. So be careful before you start pointing and calling people racist.

oww,, they were bengali's ha?? who found and returned the wallet,, it's funny that the topics had "Bengali" in it,, why not workers, labours, strangers, some guys,, no offense to the forum creater,, it just negetively ipmacts an image like ,, "Bengalis did that" and the other frogs n the well here go like "omg ,, they were bengalis,, " so is it unusual,,?

the point here is ,, every country and corner of the world has gud/bad /rich /poor/greedy/wise/needy/established ppl. it's the people's nature to discuss ,, not abt "bengalis" as if they came from another planet.

so now after the publicity ppl will think like" ow there are still honest Bengali ppl"

this forum is nothing but racial.

so now everyone here finally has 1 reason to trust Bengalis ha?

lol,,

my intention was to highlight the fact that it doesn't matter what color or religion you are or even, and it's a fact in this example, what social status you have.

I have been contacted by a Qatari Newspaper journalist to which I will give my details and the details on the two men. If the story is published than maybe you will beleive it and start having some faith in other humans.

thanks for everyones comments.

Just to rectify something, after i insisted they accepted the cash reward and my wife and I will invite them this ramadhan for an Algerian Iftar.

There still are good people left in the world. God bless those Bengali guys. I lost my wallet before at Villagio Parking Area also but these washing guys came and give it back to me when i came back to the car. I gave something to the one who found it just for thanking him that he saved me from all the trouble of having to replace everything again and i think its a good thing that he took what i gave also at least he gave me back my wallet.

I've been through a similar situation. The noble man changed my car tire, he completely refused my trying to help him out (he was a very senior with henna-died beard and a turban). After he was done, I reached out with a small token of appreciation, he smiled and waved bye and quickly walked away.
