Who serves the best tea in Doha? I am on a mission to try every teas shop at least once. Laughing

Tea / Chai/ Chaaya

I love them from the "Caffeteria" along the roads in Doha. All are equally good....especially with samossa & vadas.

Sulemani - Black Tea

Tea is always Tea with milk.

Then there is "Lipton" which is the Dip-Dip one. (Wonder why they call it by brand name lipton)

Ye achi baat hai!! These posts on food make us hungry no matter we've already eaten enough (chutpatay masalay daar samosay yum yum!!).

Garam garam gulab jamuns are also very tasty if sprinkled with khopra. My wife used to make very tasty ghulab jamuns but afsos she is not here otherwise she could have made it by now :)

qd06 you have put me in a fix now.

ok....my opinion: none of the sweets can have the originality thats there in our homeland prepared sweets, we can unanimously agree on this..... :-)

having said that, they do prepare decent bhelpuris, better than garden...and their jalebis are nice. so are the rasmalais and gulab jamuns.garam garam jalebis are yummy

samosas can be spicy becasue sometimes the garam masala is a little stronger in them........but if you hungry and craving for some carbs...then you can aaraam se eat the samosas....but it should be hot.

Ok Han19 I drove past Dehli and Bombay Sweets tonight. I was tempted to stop but didn't. How good are they? I just came back from Pakistan so i would hate to be disappointed with the snacks and sweets. :-) I would rather keep my memories alive than to taint them with some of the crude sweet shops I have been to in Doha. lol a bad Samosa can be a nightmare on the stomach.

Is a small Bangladeshi tea stall, famous Karak Chai and could you believe a long queue always. My friend's estimate that more then 1000 customer per day. Must try, rate is Half Riyal.

...ke pass there is a shop...on the corniche...decent chai .

The best thing is - the guy is open till 2.00 AM and 4.AM on weekends. So after a nite-out at the disc, you can go there and sober-up.

So...

Dunno, but why do I feel sorry for the guy who started this thread!?

Dude can't say much of tea, as am not a tea / coffee person. However, there's this place close to the Jaidah flyover, in the same complex where the first Internet cafe in Qatar was launched. They have this amazing cappucino, really got stuck onto that for one whole winter. Haven't been there lately though.

Yes, tea is the only thing cheaper in Qatar and also tasty. I was in Saudi and never enjoyed this masala daar chai. But I'm glad in Qatar we can have it.

When your wife is not making tea for you, you don't need to convince her, just take the family to ride and enjoy the chai :)
