Beware of Ettisal / TechnoWorld cheating

Good morning guys.
Just to tell you my experience with this company who sells Nokia phones.

Had to buy an E71 which was not available through the dealer (CGC), so found it at this company (Ettisal) who assured me that they have their own workshop and spare parts are available. They offered 2 years warranty. So I bought the phone for 1850.

After 3 days, one of the key caps was missing, although the phone was not dropped. Went to Ettisal to solve this problem. They said that the keyboard is not covered by the warranty as it is considered as accessory. Besides, they do not have the parts and WOULD BE available within 2 months. Also they do not replace the phone. They offered by buy it back with 33% depreciation (after 3 days). Such fcuking a$$ wholes.

Anyhow. Checked with CGC. They have the keyboard and it is for 100 riyals.

SO guys. Be aware of such companies and better stick to the official dealer

but they offered to payback 1200 compared to 1850 original price since they do not have replacement.

@kelly, definately, that isn't a warranty issue, it's a guarantee. You legally have 2 weeks to return an item.

You are right. Problem that CGC was out of stock for a long time and did not tell when they are expecting the new consignment.

Anyhow. E71 is good. But compared to Samsung with same features it becomes very expensive. I got a Samsung I-550 for 999. The Nokia E71 for 1850. Only difference is that the nokia has a querty keyboard (which is not covered under warranty)

you are right. but having it missing key pads after 3 days is not considered a warranty issue. This is considered a manufacturing defect and should be replaced without question.

Unfortunately. Ministry of Commerce is keeping its eyes closed about protecting the consumer. They are just happy with some stickers they kept in the malls

Do not buy Nokia products other than CGC warranty...

There is only 1 official distributor in Qatar and that is CGC...

and the after sales service is quite good too.....

and beleive me..keypad is not an accessory, it has to be covered under warranty...

It is the case all over the world.

It is also well known in Qatar, Bahrain and the Emirates that the keypad is not included in a warranty.

However the way that they went to solve the problem is wrong. Thanks for sharing.
