CAN ANYBODY HELP ME TO INSTRUCT ME HOW MUCHIT COSTS ME MONTHLY TO SUBSCRIBE FOR BLACKBERRY SERVICE IN QATAR
CAN I USE BLACKBERRY PHONE AS A NORMAL GSM FUNCTIONED PHONE WITHOUT HAVING ACESS TO EMAIL AND INTERNET FACILITIES WITH A NORMAL SIM ( POST PAID ) FROM QTEL?
Hey harsha, yeah the blackberry service is available in Qatar.
Unfortunatley its just a shambles at the way they have set it up. ANd the staff who they assigned to help you set it up dont actually know what to do with the blackberry stuff, so you pretty much have to sign up for the package and then tell them what you want done in order for it to work :(
As far as I am aware, you can only buy blackberries in the Emirates from from distributor, who "lock" their phones to etisalat sim cards, therefore it sounds like you'd have to get your blackberry unlocked, this is a 5 minute job, most major telecoms shops would unlock this for you, for a small price.
I belive you can also buy software to do it on ebay.
i got a blackberry pearl 8100 from emirates and i did'nt experience any problem with etisalat sim ( means i could use to voice call and message as usual phone ) but when changed to local Qtel sim it shows invalid sim card sign . please help me as i dont need to apply for a business suite facility with a price tag around 4000 for initial and 500 monthly as far i earned from QL foroum
Yes you could use the blackberry phone to make voice calls on a post paid sim. You just wouldnt be able to access emails through blackberries BIS ( Business Internet Server)
