Book or Computer..........?
book and computer-both are the most important element of our life, exceptionally improving knowledge and quality of our living. No one can say that one is better than another, the necessity of book and computer has always been developed by the result of our resources. As we seen now a days in our daily life we are using computer more than our car or any other equipment and we almost forgot to read books.Even in home every body sitting on computer instead the programs which they were watching on TV now they are watching on youtube similarly kids even don't use paper and color for painting they use computer and gets the print out from printer.
The benefits of book reading is mental activity include keeping your memory sharp, your learning capacity nimble, and your mind basically hardier as you age. No one's advising that you toss the DVD player—or books on tape, which, Pugh says, provide more work for your brain than seeing a movie—but print should take up part of your life too. A literate mind is a more complex one. "There's a richness that reading gives you," Wolf says, "an opportunity to probe more than any other medium I know of. Reading is about not being content with the surface." Even when it is superficial (what's a plane ride without a little celebrity gossip?), indulging in a tabloid beats watching TV—just processing the words boosts the brain. "If you had your druthers," Pugh says, "you'd rather be reading."

Kindle :)
One thing I like about a book is that in the bed I can fall asleep reading a book...or just keep the book opened over the face if I wanna sleep. The smell of a new book is infact good to put you to sleep..:)
Definitely a book! :)
I still prefer reading a good book, than spend chatting/gossiping/whatever on a computer.... my eyes are hurting from staring at the computer screen.
Books will always last longer than a computer. Don't believe me? Find a working computer that runs Windows 3.1 and, furthermore, try to run any program of substance from it!
There are books and writings that have been preserved and are thousands of years old.
All I have to do is drop your Kindle into some water and all your books are gone.
Boomputer :P
book.... its just me, Book and a quit place to sit :)
Computer cuz I always feel sleepy by merely looking at the pages of the book.
In terms of how much wood and water are needed to produce a book, books will (and should) become a luxury good in the future.
the brain benefits from a good workout. And reading is more neurologically demanding than processing images or speech. As you're absorbing, say, this article, "parts of the brain that have evolved for other functions—such as vision, language, and associative learning—connect in a specific neural circuit for reading, which is very challenging," says Ken Pugh, PhD, president and director of research of Haskins Laboratories, which is devoted to the science of language and affiliated with Yale. "A sentence is shorthand for a lot of information that must be inferred by the brain." In general, your intelligence is called to action, as is greater concentration. "We are forced to construct, to produce narrative, to imagine," says Maryanne Wolf, director of the Center for Reading and Language Research at Tufts University and author of Proust and the Squid: The Story and Science of the Reading Brain. "Typically, when you read, you have more time to think. Reading gives you a unique pause button for comprehension and insight. By and large, with oral language—when you watch a film or listen to a tape—you don't press pause."
Excessive internet use may cause parts of teenagers’ brains to waste away, a study reveals.
Scientists discovered signs of atrophy of grey matter in the brains of heavy internet users that grew worse over time.
This could affect their concentration and memory, as well as their ability to make decisions and set goals. It could also reduce their inhibitions and lead to ‘inappropriate’ behavior.
Researchers took MRI brain scans from 18 university students, aged 19, who spent eight to 13 hours a day playing games online, six days a week.
The students were classified as internet addicts after answering eight questions, including whether they had tried to give up using computers and whether they had lied to family members about the amount of time they spent online.
The researchers compared them with a control group of 18 students who spent fewer than two hours a day on the internet.
One set of MRI images focused on grey matter at the brain’s wrinkled surface, or cortex, where the processing of memory, emotions, speech, sight, hearing and motor control occurs.
The researchers added that these abnormalities could have made the teenagers more ‘easily internet dependent’, but concluded they ‘were the consequence of IAD (internet addiction disorder)’.
