Bored lottery winner drinks self to death

A man who became bored after he gave up his job following his £9mn lottery win has drunk himself to death, a media report said yesterday. Keith Gough, 58, was thought to be penniless when he died in March after suffering a heart attack brought on by drinking and stress, the Daily Mail reported.
Gough of Bridgnorth, Shropshire, won the lottery in 2005. He bought top-of-the-range BMW, racehorses and an executive box at Aston Villa Football Club with the money. He and his wife, who were married for 27 years, separated two years later after Gough quit his job and began drinking heavily out of “boredom”.
He moved to Cheshire where he rented a £1mn home and hired a chauffeur and a gardener on annual salaries of £25,000 and £15,000 respectively.
Gough claimed in an interview last year that his life had been “ruined” by his lottery win.
He said: “Without routine in my life I started to spend, spend, spend. In the end I was just bored.

Its a shame this has come to this, i know someone who would rather drink than deal with other problems in his life, maybe its a way of forgetting the mistakes they have made and they seem to think that drink is the only way out, if only they could understand that drinking is not the solution to their problem and it may come to this, or maybe they are happy the way the are, drink until they kill themselves. All the money they may have, will never make them happy or people who love them..

Too many would rather drink their lives away than do something productive. The lottery just provided a means to this bloke's quicker end.

a watchman from nepal won big money in a lotto and he bought himself a shopping center with accommodation on the firstfloors..

he gave all on rent but one flat on top of one of the shops where he shifted with his family.

and do you know, what he does for a living apart from the rent he gets from the shops??

when the journalists asked him about his future plans of investments...he said' all i have is enough, now i can leave my present job and become a watchman of this shopping complex'

clever guy..:)

People presume that money is everything in life. This is the sad side of the life. So even if you conquer the entire world and your soul does not exit, it is pointless!

He should have moved to Qatar.

9 million would have only bought him 2 drinks in Pearl, not enough alcohol to die from.

Boredom can kill it seems. And the lucky man was not so lucky in the end.
