"Borrowing Visa" the pros and the cons??
By strawberry_shisha •
Aloha guys! Is there anyone here in QL have experienced/ heard/ tried the so called "Borrowing Visa"??
Okay, for the sake of the other QLers who haven't heard about this, "BV" is given to an employee by his past employer allowing him/her to work in other company LEGALLY (as long as it's not competitor nor a client) but his/her sponsorship is still with the previous company, say for or within twelve months time and the NOC will follow once he/she completed the agreed months or once he/she proves she/he did not harm to his/her previous company.
Please guys..I need your thoughts about this about the pros and the cons of the Borrowing Visa
Thanks..
thanks tinker..i will keep that in mind.. :)
tinker, sorry if i confuse you..tee hee..
just to clear things: i'm still in my current company, and did not renew my contract with them..so instead of NOC, our company will just give me BV to work in other company provided it's not a competitor nor a client..
now i'm worried if i will lose the chance to work and return to the banking world again since this is the reason why i did not renew my contract with my present company :(
Hard question, shisha!
Only the mighty sponsor can answer...:(
Britey - yes this is allowed..Alhamdulillah!!
Drac, my company granted me 12 months..they will renew it after I complete the first six months period then NOC after 12 months..
I had an offer in one of the banks here but when I informed them that my company will not give me NOC but a BV only, they said they can't accept it because they might have problems with the Ministry of Labour in the future :(
Now, I'm quite confuse about this. Though, on the other hand, I am so lucky that my company did not banned me for two years after I did not renew my contract..
I can safely return to Doha and look for work..
The question is: is there any limitations into which company I am allowed to apply or work??
Drac is this the same as 'freelance visa'? bcoz i heard some people say that their visa is freelance..wherein they r under sponsor by other company or person but they r working with another company or doing some independent work..
Are you sure this is allowed ? I don't remember reading about it in Doha News ...
phew!! Thanks a lot Tinker for clearing this issue to me.. Your information is a great help!! God bless..
I heard about it...
It's so called "Aiara".
A written agreement/contract between 2 companies/sponsors.
You can work 6 months only with BV. Should be endorsed by Chamber of Commerce I think.
thanks tinker for the info..will the person encounter problem with the Ministry of Labour in the future??
is there any downside of having a Borrowing Visa??
