Boys to be lashed for hitting teacher

A court in Saudi Arabia ordered two school boys lashed in the school in front of the other students after they were found guilty of assaulting their teacher.

The court in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah also decided to suspend the two students from school for one year and made them write a statement pledging not to repeat such an act, ‘Okaz’ newspaper said.

“We have a serious problem in this age, where students no longer appreciate their teachers and attack them without any respect. We are seeing a generation that is neither educated nor responsible,” the paper quoted the judge as saying after issuing the sentence.

Well done to the authorities … Too many students don’t respect their teachers

Yes, they ought to be punished but lashing is barbaric. I am sure there are other ways too.

It is a good step indeed taken by the authorities. These young Saudi children needed to be controlled and the step will go a long way to instill some level of manners in the upcoming generation and teach them to respect others.
