Burglars loot shop in Doha
BURGLARS broke into a shop in Doha’s Souq al-Haraj and got way with cash and telephone cards worth more than QR5,000. The incident is reported to have occurred in the early hours of yesterday.
According to shopkeepers in the neighbourhood, thefts in the newly-developed portion of the market in Najma area are very rare.
One of the shop’s proprietors revealed that staff had been working until 11pm and security men posted at the place thereafter.
“We do not know how the burglars still managed to break in,” he said.
A police complaint was filed and investigation is on, he said. The security men claim they heard a noise and found the shop’s front glass broken around 3am, he said.
The shopkeeper refused to name any suspect.
The incident took place just a few hours before the opening of the group’s new outlet at Al Khor.

let's compare them to a surgeon...
both know to look for signs of trouble, clots, erratic heartbeat, nicked artery, dog houses, alarm signs...
can both diagnose. Patient might show signs of an illness while a house shows weaknesses of homeowners, like piled up mail, open windows, no motion detecting lights etc.
If I was so exhausted I could come up with more examples but I think you get my point. az home security
...usually sounds idiotic a situation.

insurance scam, has to be.
you see it all the time around this region. They will rob or burn their shop down to the ground for the unsurance money, and they do not care wtf happens to the surrounding buildings.
In this case i think it is clear though. His window was dirty, too lazy to clean it. Insurance money buys him new one. It's a classic "Break my window so i can get a new one" routine. Seen it a thousand times.
*note* haven't had my tea yet. The next few moments could be random.

The third tile from the left? I'm sure I saw it shift slightly..
Much to learn young grasshopper... One is actually painted into a painting awaiting to pounce. and the other is a floor tile near the door

Damn , these guys are good. I only spotted two..
One is the table lamp on the right and the other one is disguised as the TV remote control..
"despite working 'till 11 and guard on roving", was the basis not the "broken glass". It's very obvious that the break-in happens on the broken glass as described. What was mentioned was in spite of the "late workers and guards", the burglars still managed to commit the burglary! Good morning!

we might also look into the possible cause. why it happened in Doha where people (usually from all around the world) are living peacefully without fear of theft.
Ninja security guards could have prevented this... they are the shadows that lurke in something except i forget what.

Despite the fact that this was poorly written, at least it was reported in the paper.
I'm going to start selling diamond glass cutters made in China, probably those thieves are so intelligent that they will remove the diamonds and use the dull glass cutters.
The problem is I think you’re an overeducated, 27-year-old virgin who holds the hands of superstitious old women and promises them eternity.
Of course he may have a hunch, but it would serve no purpose to tell a local newspaper about it while there's an ongoing police investigation. In fact, it would probably be detrimental to the case.
Regarding the "break-in" thing, I found it amusing that the shopkeeper said he didn't know how they broke in despite the fact that the window had been smashed. Perhaps that's just my warped sense of humour.
the shopkeeper may have a hunch of who "may" have bad intentions. And your first comment, I don't see any wrong in the "break-in" thing!

I like this line too;
The shopkeeper refused to name any suspect.
The inference that he should be expected to name a suspect is just stupid.
They may have hidden in a cupboard during the evening and then broken their way out through the glass :)

Just a hunch, but I reckon the broken glass is a clue to how they broke in.
