I'm moving from Canada to Doha in the next few weeks, possibly to Barwa City. Can anyone help with any information about Barwa City? How's the drive to the airport during the morning/afternoon rush horur traffic? I heard a lot of the newer Qatar Airways staff are housed in Barwa, is this true? What's the general population there like?

Any help is greatly appriciated :)

Thanks for all the info. From what I gathered, leave for work before 6:30 to beat traffic, Having said that, how long of a drive is it to the airport, if I do leave at 6:10 or 6:15?. What are some of the facilities available around? As for the expats at in Barwa, what's the mix like? Westren? Asian? Arabs? Just curious honestly. Also, how long of a drive is it from central Doha? Say in the evening if i wanted to go to West Bay or somewhere downtown, how long would that take? Also, any other pointers you'd like to give me would be appreciated.

It's more secure when you see people around you than a deserted road. So heavy traffic would be a kind of assurance to you ...... Mon, 15.09.2014, 12.20 hrs ..........

Search for My Barwa City on Facebook. There's a friendly group with over 1800 people there.

Qatar Airways, Hamad hospital, Civil Defence (among others) have housing in Barwa City.

Traffic jams start after 6.30am in the morning. Evenings should be ok.

The population of Doha consists mainly of expatriate workers and they come from all parts of the globe. The city has quiet, friendly atmosphere. The crime rate is also very low.
