Hey y'all,

I just bought a car and I don't like the stereo that's in it. I want to change it soon (though not immediatly). It is a big one wich is really huge. As I am not a specialist in this, I have several questions:

-Is there a standard size for the big ones? I herad of a size called DIN 2 (should fit in a M-Class)
-Where can I get nice car stereos here in Doha? (Don't want the high-end stuff, I am looking for a nice DVD with touchscreen of no particular brand and Displau of 6.2")
-In germany those are around 1000QRS may be a bit more, what are the costs here?
-Where do get the stereo changed and installed?

Thanks for your recommendations!

Oh, let me mention, that I don't want to change my car into a concert hall...

I know there are some specialists her that can help me!

Cheers folks

if you want SQ or SPL. SQ is where you use four channels in which speakers are positioned at all four corners of the listening space,(i.e. car, 2 in front, 2 at the back or for some 4 at front and a sub woofer at the back) reproducing signals that are independent of each other. here you have just the right amount of sound for listening pleasure. or if you want SPL like if you have watched the movie fast and the furious (the ones that are so bassy but with a crisp sound.) it depends also on the head unit you choose. for me i choose alpine which i think has the best to offer with regards to wattage and channels. seperates are also another thing which would define the voice in the music. tweeters can also help for that "life like" sound. then the sub woofer which would give body to the sound. my choices of speakers are targa, crystal or kicker, and for the subs kicker or targa. but it depends really on what u prefer as i have mentioned above and also your budget. 2DIN or 1DIN is basaically the size of the head unit. depends on what car you have.

HTH.

I just got a JVC Touvchscreen Dvd with bluetooth so u can use it as a handsfree while driving.. It also has a usb port and card reader. With a combination of a JBL sub and a kenwood amp the sound quality is excellent. The stereo would cost u around 3000, with another 1000 for speakers... It is a double din so it should be ok for you !! The shop is called Car music near the Sana round about !!! Its sreiously worth it !! if u r really into enjoying ur music !!! :)

Yeah, okay! ;)

As I said, don't want to change the entire car into a concert hall. Just want a userfriendly nice DVD/CD/Tuner combo of large size!

Speakers and everything is just fine, it's only the stereo control panel which is crap!

Where can I get this?
