A LESSON FOR OUR CHILDREN AND GENERATIONS TO COME Know you are blessed.

Sometimes I wonder what crime some people have committed, that they have to go through such difficult times in their lives, where as some are so fortunate & there is no end to it.

Yes Victor, their situation will not be like this for long, they are likely to die from disease or hunger in the next few years. Praise be to Allah.

We all should run self-analysis and show this to our children to be more responsible towards the blessed and privileged LIFE given by God!

May Allah change their situation and these days will NOT remain for Long and will see the better days soon!

This is a sad plight, but encouraging your children to eat everything on their plate, will not help this cause, it will just encourage gluttony. And in fact, the video suggests that if there were no food wastage, the people in it would have no access to food. The more food we buy, the more food production increases, the more likely there will be excess food for the poor. I wish the world could stop being so divided by their borders. Some people have so much money that they can support many people for generations to come, and some can not even support themselves. I personally would support a law that skims a certain percentage of money off the top of high wage earners, and uses it to build proper economies for the underdeveloped countries, so that they no longer need to survive on charity. That we even allow billionaires to exist, seems ridiculous.

It is typical for the poor to have larger families. Although these children are a financial burden until age 5 or 6, once they have reached an age, they can start earning money for the family. In top of this, mortality rates are high, therefore the more children one has, the more chance there will be one that survives. There are no old age pensions in these countries, if you can no longer work, you will die if you do not have any children to support you.

rated_PG, really, they only allow a maximum of 2 now? the last time i heard it was 4.

arien, it reminds me of a boy, somewhat in the age of 7, the other night. he approached me before coming into the resto, and said, "i am starving". i just went inside the restaurant with my dad, and when i got my food, dunno what happened, i thought i'd reserve my 1 cup rice, fried chicken, and half of my soup and dessert for him. though he had most of my meal, but looking at how fast he ate and how starving he looked like, to me it seems he deserved to have more.

voila tout!

very sad..

maybe the parents of these children just had nothing to do but produce babies. in part, we can't blame them, especially the poorest of the poor, say if they apply for jobs, hardly they are going to be accepted anyway. but there are many, however, who are able to cope and make this kind of sacrifice their last sacrifice on earth.

related to what you said arien sticking 1 to 2 kids.

is it true in singapore their government only permit couples to have 2 kids max. if they exceed they put the kid to adaption or kill it (like abortion). any idea?

Smoke - you are exactly right- when the upper and middle class stick to 1 and 2 , the ones down the BPL will have half a dozen back home. they should be punished. :(

Franci - Oh , I ddnt know which s the country and place dear. Just happen to see it and thought we all should know whats happening and realise how blessed we all are.

Heart touching video :(

Arien i was about to comment the same thing when i saw all those kids! i mean i've always noticed that even back home, the poor people have more kids than the rich! lol

Everything was going fine in that video until that bugger started to sing and ruined everything. Gosh i wanted to cry just listening to his voice.

its hard for me also to watch the kids eat leftover foods from other people.

it also bothers me how these kind of parents bring a lot of innocent life whom they can't give a comfortable life.

actually arien in the phils poor people produces more kids than those who have a better life. esp when you go to manila in squaters area.

too bad the innocent kids suffers cause of the parents incapability to bring decent foods on their table.
