Chid Car Seats
Why are so few people in Qatar aware of the dangers of not strapping children and babies into a child seat in a car.
I have only been living in Qatar for a few months and noticed very few babies and children are in child seats. In some cases I see mothers not wearing a seat belt with babies on there knee in the front seat. No parent willingly puts their child at risk its just that they don't realise the dangers. The only way to protect children from the dangers of collisions or sudden stops is to ensure they are properly restrained. Please visit the group I have created on facebook and take a look at the links i have put on there http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=19861421940 if you feel as strongly about it as I do please join me.
The only people who seem interested at the moment are people back in England.
Any suggestions to how we can promote this to the people who are ignorant to the dangers will be welcome
What is needed is to make people here aware of the dangers that is why I started the group on facebook. I have links on there to videos. What we need is more people joining the group and for them to invite there friends to join then more people would not be so ignorant of the dangers.
I agree with the car seat issue, and have seen the smoking foot on the dash idiots, but what gets me the most is the people who drive with their kids hanging out the sunroofs of their cars. Stupidity at its best.
F=m*a (Newton's Second Law)
have you seen a man driving with a baby on lap?
Drivers foot on the dashboard...while drinking tea and smoking?
Kids jumping on the rear seats of an suv?
Im sure you have seen morons driving while talking on their mobile phones.
just drive defensively and keep distance from them..
The student's answer to her brother should have been: "Yes, I trust you, it's just all the other idiots on the road I don't trust"!

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Airbags is how they're referred to by staff at the Sheikh Khalifa Hospital Paediatric Ward in Abu Dhabi. Should be required that all new parents tour similar wards with child accident victims before they are allowed to take their new babies home from the hospital.
I know my female students in Dubai changed their minds about the use of seatbelts and carseats after a field trip there to discover the causes of many of the physical and mental disabilities (caused in car accidents) that they see in their own families.
One student told her brother she wouldn't drive with him unless she wore her seatbelt - he was most insulted "Don't you trust me? If you do not trust me, you can sit at home" and refused to give her lifts (her only form of transportation).
What I don't understand is the fatalism that if it's your time to go, it's your time to go - After all, the children are taken to the doctor when they are sick???
..."airbags"!!!!
Take a look at this very short video
666, sometimes you have to be "sarcastic" to stir up the lethargy.
Well you can say its ignorance, too much faith on whatever is fate will happen but airbags.....................
Well I in fact agree with Magic because that is exactly what people who drive with babies or children on there laps are doing. Just wish they could see that for themselves.
Well, then you better have a look around yourself.
Magic that is one sarcastic comment.
Here the small children are used as "air-bags".
