sorry, my question doesn't appear in the Questions section for half an hour by now... so..here you go:
What does the law of State of Qatar say (if anything) about a day off on December 25th for the Christians? Do we suppose to have one?
Thanks.

a lot of companies do understand the significance of Dec. 25 to a lot of expats. They allowed them not to work but they charge it to your allowed leave (I think it's 3 days per year aside from the legal holidays of Qatar and vacation leave of three weeks to one month depending on your company).

depends on the employer. if most of it's employees are christians, they might probably consider them for 1 christmas off. That goes for my company :)

I am requesting a Christmas and a New Year's day leave...

depends on the employer..

The Government of Qatar, for my understanding will not consider that a national holiday day. I believe it is up to your employer and good luck on that one.

Go ahead , I'll give you the day off on the 25th. Just don't tell your employer that I told you, OK.

But it depends on the employer to give off day or not.
