Coffee Shop at the Old Souq....

This is quite a nice place to visit...it's located opposite HSBC bank on the corniche. This is the place they had demolished earlier and have given it a total traditional look.

The coffee shop is open 24 hours and u can sit on the roof top with a very pleasant view of the corniche...They have sheesha's and kebab's as cheap as QAR5 for a single strip. and then u could go shopping for the traditional local items that are for sale around the area....

they have place for families to relax as well....a nice place to chill during the winter....Hope u guys can locate this place and have fun......

If all of us could suggest similar places or something different for our new comers,i'm sure we could try and make this place a little more interesting.....

Cheers.....

On the contrary I believe smoking is the easiest of vices to give up. I used to give up smoking almost on a weekly basis. ;-)

Spoken like a true smoker/sheesha smoker. Adults are one thing however family sections are for families ie sometimes with kids. Adults have a choice to kill themselves kids don't.

I have worked in hospitals for a long time it is so interesting to see people with heart disease or lung cancer so addicted that they remove respirators just to take a smoke. So keep on puff puff passing away. Its so cool.

Let's hope that new generation won't start it already.

I hope that people keep taking care of their health. Smoking is haram, yet we still keep smoking cigarettes & sheeshas. We are addicted :(:(

i spend a few nights hanging out there every week. as long as you're not wearing anything too revealing you wont feel uncomfortable sitting amongst the men, although the family area is kind of cosy you have your own couches to lay back on and a bit more privacy.

i dont think there is ANY chance of having a sheesha and non-sheesha section, everyone who is there is smoking sheesha its quite a local hangout. if the smoke really bothers you i would recommend you go somewhere else.

I would love to see the place, but anytwhere smokey will put me off. Me and hubby don't smoke. I will probably still go there and see what is like from the outside. I read it in the paper few days ago, it suppose to be good after the renovation.

Well..i have been there a couple of times....I was for a fact quite surprised to see a lot of ladies there which i wasnt expecting at all given the situation usually at such places....

There were lots of western ladies and did happen to see arab ladies in the family section too....

It's become more like a tourist spot there..with quite a lot of the Asian games staff and athletes relaxing there...and of course the locals are also around the place....

Check it out ......Cheers...

Novita,

They have a little family section off to the side up on the roof. The only problem to me is the Sheeshas. They need a sheesha are and a non sheesha area. The sheeshas will push most families away.

Coolasice ... what is the percentage of ladies sitting there? Or is this only male domination only place? :-)
