Cradle of Romhoa - Part 2

And so a tense peace descended across the land and the wheels of time turned very slowly in ancient Romhoa.

A period of order and settlement descended on the Empire. But with the arenas of combat quiet – fun had been vanquished to the suburbs of common man and the inner council retreated to the inner city.

Many moons had passed since the night of the long knives. A somber uneasy period descended upon the kingdom, the embarrassed council seeking solace from within.
The missing pages of history never did reappear, the supreme council seeing fit to hide the shame, for they could not afford them to be released into the public domain.

Spastrattycus, after being pardoned as a result of public support, led a life of secret peace and relative seclusion, his work here done. But one day he will rise once more and lead his people, that my friends, you can be sure.

Syndromacus reclused also, he continued his scribes, a champion of truth and fact that the council so resented. He was osterised, for the learned members of the inner higher Council concluded that the earth was indeed still flat, and such scribings were treacherous.

Truth was a strong weapon, and the inner council of Q-uakers, L-uddites, S-ocialites and G-ladiators did all they could to prevent further exposure that would prove the degradation they had fallen to.

CaeseRuDe left Romhoa into a period of voluntary exile to the east of Babylon, tired and shaken, the years of responsibility had taken it’s toll. Social gatherings were left to the inept ‘Co-Captains’, this proved to be the biggest mistake that any empire could suffer, for total calamity and disorganization would follow, as surely as spring follows winter.

Calls were made to drive the Q-uakers, L-uddites, S-ocialites and G-ladiators into a secret hidden society where their debauchery, bingeing and orgies would not incite the common people. But stories still emerged, some surely embellished by time, some exaggerated beyond believable, and others just too stupid to comprehend.

[removed by mod: Do not bring external, private issues/incidents onto QL, a public forum. Do not use QLers real names.]

Who could believe such stories.

Other stories of in fighting and falling out amongst the members were rampant. The blantant trashing of private homes went unabated.

Can the crone Lexcelcior maintain her hold on power and influence of the members through continued fear of the ‘clause’ or will they rise and rebel?

Cracks were emanating from within, meetings were held deep into the night.

Lexcelcior, the ring leader from the arena of the last games, had worked her way up the council ranks, and she held the poison chalice, for it was she who had the ‘clause’ to keep the common people away, the ones she christened ‘the rejects’.

QueenBeeZi was ominous by her silence on the matters, rumour was that her council powers were misused and under question and that her pimping sideline was flaying.

The Empire was crumbling and the infighting was rampant.
But feelings in the council were mixed and some did not agree, in public these people were silenced by the knowledge of the ‘clause’ and its existence was feared by most.

The good and conscientious intellects of the inner council were becoming restless. One or two did dare show some understanding and compassion to the out casts and rejects, but they were quickly chastised and herded back into line.

However, their silence was not complete, for Spastrattycus and Syndromacus received clandestine messages of support via their P-ersonal M-anservants.

Brave souls from unlikely sources supported the crusade of the common people that would certainly have the hierarchy of the council spilling wine upon their togas. But to be discovered would face the council’s wrath and they would be fed to the lions by order of ‘the Clause’, or even worse, exiled to the baron lands of the outer circle where they would join the ‘rejects’.

THE MEETING

Soon, arenas of entertainment had been closed across the Empire and society was no fun and was becoming stale and newcomers were keeping their distance.

The Clowncharanmarites were subdued – fun was quickly being sapped from the halls of the inner city.

A time for reflection and self rebuke, as some of the council members were not amused at the portrayal that history had cast in stone of their behavior.

Meetings were protected from gate crashes by the Inner Security Council. This was led by a somber no nonsense man of few words and no humour, he was known as Veggycasinoanius.
He came from a way off yet to be discovered land where etiquette had yet to develop and hence had still not developed any literacy skills. However, he could ‘pick’ out the riff raff with ease and quickly ‘led’ them away. Hence he became known as the ‘pick-led’ one, and this pleased him so, for he headed council security division and promptly rebuffed all new comers with sharp yet nonsensical jibes.
He had ambitions to one day entertain and join the ranks of the ‘Clowncharanmarites’, alas this was but a dream and unlikely to be attained for a certain amount of wit was required, however little.

Now, Tigasundertwarius, a son of a mathematician and a wise elder of the council called forth council members. For he could see the writings on the walls of time, and lessons of history had been learnt.

He addressed the inner Council,

“In the name of fun and all we behold holy we must confront the problem before a cataclysm of events besieges us all” he announced!

The self destruct and inner torments of the inner city needed to be addressed; his agenda, ‘The Kingdom is no fun anymore’ was tabled.

But could the die hards be tamed or was the ‘clause’ to deeply established, was decay and corruption and blatant nepotism of the few too deeply entrenched?

Janjanurius and Tigasundertwarius contrived between them a possible ‘stupid point’ system.

These would be awarded for stupidity by a committee and on accruing a certain amount of points, the recipient would be banished forever. Lexcelcior, Janjanurius and Qatarimoonovium immediately volunteered themselves for the committee as Judge and Jurors.

QueenBeeZi suggested 10 points then feed them to the lions!!! However, after some discussion this idea was soon rebuked when it was realized that the Q-uakers, L-uddites, S-ocialites and G-ladiators of the inner council would be nonexistent within one moon upon gaining the required points themselves, and hence the stamp of the waxed seal of disapproval.

QueenBeeZi was hence awarded ten points and sent upon her way.

Shortglium, a cool head on a brave warrior waded into the debate, he dared suggest that some members did indeed intimidate newcomers. However, the crone Lexcelcior soon shot him down with a look of daggers and belittled such a ludicrous suggestion.

Snowyravencus brought the word ‘etiquette’ into the debate, this had the inner council members scurrying for their dictionaries.
They returned and rebuked such a notion, the Q-uakers, L-uddites, S-ocialites and G-ladiators clique was not a place for such sanity.

Veggycasinoanius made the odd one line comment, then just as quickly dozed back off.

QueenBeeZi, not to be out done, spoke up and suggested that she needed some ‘hardballs’, one assumes her originals ones were going a bit soft.

In the end it was decided and agreed, there was a clique, some could speak their minds and pick on others, but do likewise, and one would soon become ‘clause fodder’. This fact was etched into the tablets of stone to be kept for eternity for it’s historical relevance.

And so it came to be that the outsiders and rejects questioned their wish to join this ‘thing’ of insane self indulgence, for they realized that their lives were indeed more full and wholesome on the outside.

No insanity and drivel to endure, swearing, a firm requirement of the inner council members, was rarely heard on the outside.

And so it came to be that the Q-uakers, L-uddites, S-ocialites and G-ladiators became the outcasts and undesirables.
Get togethers and celebrations of the outsiders were arranged under the noses of the council where decency and families belong.

For the wheel had turned full circle, and those seeking a private club of self indulgence had been crushed by their very own ‘spokes’ members and hence they became known as the undesirables.!!

CaeseRuDe did return to Romhoa to once again seize the reigns of power. But can order be restored? Can the wannabee upstarts be brought back into line? Can the damage to the committee’s reputation be reversed or has it gone too far.

Time will tell, but be sure, the story does not end here. History is always in the making.

Hail Ceasar!!

Epilogoue

An icy breeze did sweep the land,
In all this turmoil, could change be at hand,
QueenBeeZi has lost her head, and post, they say,
And common people pray, QueenBeeZi please go away.

But Cronie Queen would have none of that,
She consulted her friend, the Almanac,
Tell me mirror mirror am I the Queen,
Tell me true what you have foreseen.

The mirror stuttered, for dare he speak,
The news he had was indeed so bleak,
My Queen, the people, they all know,
Your secrets are out, it’s time to go.

The hangings on for power and greed,
The time has come for you to leave,
Free food and drink have taken their toll,
You’ve been labeled, a party troll.

So please the masses and take your leave,
For when you go, no one will grieve,
Your reign has ended, and you must go,
You’re officially sacked, by company and co.

For another is known throughout the kingdom,
More popular than you, on Qatar Living,
For the fair Princess, Novirella,
Is the true Queen of all Q’elers.

Well Vegas, we have roughly the same number of QL points, but you've been a member for approximately half the length of time I have, so I think I'll let the maths speak for itself.

China - I enjoy your writing, but I managed to catch your comment before the mod got to it (boy they're quick!) and I have to say that you'd overstepped the mark. Bringing incidents like that onto a public forum, whether they're true or not, is bad form.

lock the doors, dont let this out the bag, let the closing of ranks begin!!!

Obviously a member of the inner council takes umbridge.

Fear not oh mighty moderious, for I will fall into line and post good things in future.

but I have been sailing the ocean waves all day.

Oh dear Scarlett, you being a bit sensitive and over the top me thinks. But kudos to you for sticking up for the others, and thank you for your comments, constructive criticism always welcome.

However, it is this very hypocrisy that is being highlighted. All information has been gleaned from the very posters themselves. I don’t post much, but I observe a lot.

Also, I don’t know anybody here, maybe some of these lady posters are actually men, maybe some are men pretending to be a lady. Maybe the same person has several ID’s on here ………. Who knows? To me they are all characters that portray their real or imaginary persona in the forum.

However, here, a bit of their own medicine appears to be a bit bitter.

For example, as the same people responding will tell others here on QL, it’s a public forum, if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen, let them take their own advice.

Also, see a few posts above this one, one of your very own implying that a fellow member is a B****.

(sorry, swear words not my norm, just quoting your friend).

But notice how it is accepted and not criticized. This is all so common I notice, but nobody appears to get on their high horse about it.

Oh My ……… I am far from envious, just having fun.

Alexa ……………… thank you, a good imagination is indeed a blessing.

Bugboy ………………for the record, I have a super wife, lovely kids and just love to spend time on my boat with family and friends. Oh, and nothing is personal on here, just a satirical reflection of every day forum soap opera.

Azilana …………….. funny you should say that considering what I have been up to today!

Britexpat …………….. very good, your own work?

Tallg ……………….. TQ

Vegas …………… you’re a star, heaping credibility on the Fable ……….. please, please keep posting LOL

OK, got to shoot, party to go to with Mrs CS, gotta wash the sea salt away somehow ………………….. have a good night all.

whatever in the world did any of these folks do that got your knickers in a knot? by posting what you have, not only have you named names(yes, I know..the disclaimer at the bottom ) but you posted situations that even IF true, shouldn't have ever been put in public, for obvious reasons. What right have you to do that to people and their reputations? In one fatal blow, you have put a public stain on many of the members reputations here, quite a few that I know personally don't deserve it. Gossip is gossip and only meant to hurt others, therefore... shouldn't be spread.

I know you think it would be "cute" to diss people in such a way to seem funny...but its not and shows that yes, you can write, but at the same time, you need to know how to have decorum and not show your ignorance and jealousy of others.

Try to remember that if you can't say anything nice about someone, then don't say anything at all.

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

As a rule, what is out of sight disturbs men's minds more seriously than what they see..

Time has indeed passed and the circle has turned full circle..

However, Now, truly is the winter of our discontent

Made glorious summer by this sun of Doha;

Grim-visaged war hath smooth'd this wrinkled front;

And now, instead of mounting barded steeds

We instead look to the lascivious pleasing of a lute.

Plots have you laid, inductions dangerous,

By drunken prophecies, libels and dreams,

To set our brothers in deadly hate the one against the other:

Tis time for Ceasar be true and just

To save the day and end the war;
