Di Matteo has been sacked by West brom... :O(

Another knee jerk reaction from the board. he's a class act and brought them up from the Championship.

I suppose Big Sam will be called up now ..

As i posted in another thread, i still at office too and wonder 35 million pounds for Carroll?? I cud have been a better manager in terms of using that 50 million pounds wiselt that they got for Torres :/ :/ what a waste of money!! there so many better players in 20-30 million range.. moreover he is even injured till god knows when :/ so why buy him

By anonymous• 4 Feb 2011 13:26

Brit yes they don't look like a league winning side at the moment but if they can finish in a champions league spot this season again then maybe Harry will be able to bring some more big names to the club.

They need to wrap their centre halves in cotton wool during the week, all of them keep breaking down.

But they have got a very supportive owner who isn't afraid to spend so that always helps.

By the way, can anyone figure out the case of Giovanni Dos Santos and why he never got a place in the Spurs side, they have sent him out on loan now. I was so excited to see him play for them when he first signed but never got to see him apart from one sub appearance here and there.

Spurs are Spurs. As QPR, Birmingham and ipswich used to be in their heady days.

They will play good football, buy players with skill and flair, but will never "build' a complete team to win the league :O(

Mr. M I still can't wrap my head around the fact the Carroll is the most expensive English footballer ever..

Maybe he will do something unbelievable in future to justify it but right now he is a waste of money when you can get a proven performer like Suarez for 23 Million...

Spurs paid 8 Million for VDV so paying 4 and a half times for Carroll would have been plain stupid.

I knew the final standings I want even before I started filling the table anyway :-P

1. Man U

2. Gunners

3. Chelsea

4. Spurs

5. City

Going down are

Hammers

Latics

Wolves

I had the same problem.. So triple checked and the totals are 38

By anonymous• 3 Feb 2011 20:20

I filled it up, clicked update table everywhere and yet for some reason Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs & Birmingham end up with only 37 matches :-/

Anyone else faced this problem or am I just missing something :(

Maybe City will finish amongst the top four. And they play in te Champions League next season.

I seriously think Carroll should have joined Spurs. They play exciting football, are in the CL and got some great talent. If her did join Spurs, then they would have won the title and stop United going one over Liverpool!

Arsenal

United

Chelsea

with

West Ham

Wigan

Wolves for relegation :O(

predictor and for me it will be:

1, Arsenal 85 points

2, Utd 84

3, Chelsea 77

4, City 77

5, Spurs 67

Bottom 3

18, Blackpool

19, West ham

20, Wolves

It will no doubt be a million miles of but thats my shout.

Give it a go and we can compare at the end of the season.

Actually, the fun is going to be at the bottom...

About 10 teams who could still flounder.. I'm betting on Blackpool to get sucked in with Wolves and Wigan to go down :O(

10 points is a bit too much to make up..

Will be fun though if they can put some results together.

Torres, Drogba & Anelka leading their lines, they appear frightening on paper atleast.

9-1 to beat Chelski on Sunday, i might have a bit of that... anyhow for 20 minutes in the 1st half last night the reds looked awesome, one touch, pass and move and had the oustanding Kuyt chasing defenders down like a headless chicken. Suarez looks a tricky little player that will compliment the brut force of Carroll, are the good times back? In Kenny we trust!!

Raven1968.. The strike force looks good now, still worried about Liverpools defence, even last night they were lucky not to conceed. I hope Carragher gets fits and returns soon.

well said Brit, King Kenny certainly dos care about Liverpool, expect him to be appointed full time manager now!! Once Carroll is fit in a month that is a dam good strike force now, and with Meriles on fire its looking good for the rest of the season.

What i found amazing and heart warming was Dalglish's interview afterwards.. Here is one man who actually does CARE for the club ....

Hope they can chase down Tottenham for the 5th place.. :o)

Once again, whilst others are tightening their belts, the EPL clubs flash the cash.

I hope Carroll works out. Its a big big gamble, but I'm sure the crowd will take to him. It's a long time since Liverpool have had a good old fashioned centre forward..

Caroll is a good player though the amount is exaggerated but he's got the potential to be worth the amount. Who knew Gareth Bale would be such a highly expensive player before the UEFA champions league game against the title holders Inter Milan? Then the price almost doubled during the home game!! Anyway maybe Chelsea will find their way next season with their new players, but this season - its Manchester United to look out for!! UNITED UNBEATEN!!

No way is Andy Carroll worth that kind of money, Liverpool sound desperate to replace the soon to be departing Torres - who on his day, is one of the best around. Carroll just looks like an average Premiership english striker. But as the saying goes - he's only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Suarez? £23M? Hmmmm.

I think Chelsea have got the better player.
