Hey Guys.. Planning to buy LED tv (40 inch) for home. So just wanted to know how much would they charge me for Customs (approx) back in India (Kerala )??
We paid 23670.00 for the TV Samsung we bought for 2200 Qrs.. We paid it from our own pocket last year becoz the relative already paid us the cost and when we landed in India we were forced by customs to pay the duties.Such a big loss.Later on we came to know that at www.compareindia.com they give deals at too much less prices for previous months models. So better buy from there only :(

So they will charge you @16.70 per QR.
For Ex. if your TV costs QR.2500 then you will pay tax = 2500 x 16.70 x 36.05% = INR: 15,050.88.
Upto 32'' is free....they do charge for 40''.
According to new rules the duty will be very high.
It depends on which brand also.
But when I had taken to India, I had paid 1800INR for a Sony 40'' LCD TV.
Irrespective of the Size, all the LCD & LED TVs are subject to duty at the rate of around 35%......in INDIA
