Rizks has invited me to a Diwali party at his Emporium. Rumours are that Gypsy Gal will be there and we may get free food.

I am just wondering what I should wear to such a "happening"

diwali a solemn occassion?...its the festival of lights and fire crackers!..which is also the reason why i suggest brit not wear a lungi..its a gaping hole at the bottom and you don't want a stray rocket cracker flying in and setting the woodwork alight:-)

britey, how about a net typo lungi with nothing underneath ?

Fresh air circulation will be there and you will enjoy the cool breeze ! :)

Good Old Joe: You obviously have never worn a lungi. I have been informed that the only way to wear a Lungi is like a kilt - with nothing underneath.

Yeah.. exactly with a loongi covering the tong till you get to the site of the Emporium or the party otherwise you may get caught on the road for indecent exposure. Wow looks like some good and fun times ahead for the festival

Lucky you.......For such a solemn occasion I would recommend a tong and nothing else. It would be a big insult otherwise. So sad I am not invited.

A great idea. Perhaps I can match it to my black tartan lungi and whip.... BUT , is it really suitable for Diwali
