Do I need to have my Residence permit transferred from my old passport to the new one?

I just renewed my passport at the Phil. Embassy. They said it doesn't matter if my residence permit is not transferred to the new one because they attached the old passport to the new one. Is it really not necessary beacuse I will be going home next week to the Phil and I dont want any problems encountered on the airport immigration.thanks!

In Indian Embassy they will cancel old passport when issue new one. So RP change is compulsory.

It is better to have the RP transferred to your new passport to avoid any confusions while travelling.

You have to put the RP on the new passport.

I just did it few weeks ago.

But nothing to pay it's free

I think no problem but when you come to re-new your residence permit, you have to transferre it to the new one and pay Transfeer fees.
