I'm just suggesting if you start some thing and Pakistani don't help you then i can understand.you have been in this country so long you know better ins and outs of it. if you come up with ideas where the most help needed and post it.we all help you. how this sounds to you?look at our brother Speed mashalla he is helping every one not just Pakistanis or Muslims which is great. my SALAAM to speed bhai.you lots are young, do some thing creative and adventurous.we;ll be with you inshalla.

Well, quality education in Qatar is the best example for an oxymoron... They don't value education at all but what do you expect from them?

Scarlett, we are more or less arguing the same point.

This is a country where education is only available to the highest bidder.

I hate to sound harsh, but I simply cannot understand parents who would rather be here because they want to pay less tax, while at the same time their children's education is suffering.

While there are so many people here saying that they are here to provide for their families and give them a good future, you would think that giving their children a good educational start in life would be the most valuable thing that they could provide.

I raise this thread to gather information from expatriates that as the Qatari population is growing rapidly so the current Schools (Indians/Pakistani etc) don't have any sufficient seats for children. Many pupils have to Q in waiting list and usually have to miss the academic year in some cases.

.

Moreover, current schools do have high tuition fees but do they really give QUALITY EDUCATION to our children or not?

.

That's why i'm asking that do we need more schools to cater our children's education needs in due time & within our monthly budget.

.

I think point taken

even if you are "white" and wealthy, your child stands to not get into the schools because some of the oil companies "buy" places and actually bump those on the waiting list, out of place. I've seen it done at least twice this past 2 months.

You really think education is the main gauge dictating the low salaries of some expats?! you nuts or sumthin'? I'ts the SKIN! you..

By fubar• 26 Apr 2009 11:30
fubar

The government doesn't want to encourage people on low/medium incomes to bring their families here.

That's why the have increased the salary requirement for the family visa.

Schooling is intentionally expensive so that only wealthier people can educate their children here.

You have to choose:

Live as an adult here, but give your kids a crappy education;

or

Give your kids a better start to their life by staying in your own country.

Your answer will determine how much you value your children's education.

If you are an expat, the waiting list for ANY of the schools, good or not, is too long!!!!

Victor, they pay a lot of money for the facilities, but not for the staff. Or why do they have so many Eastern European lecturers at Georgetown University?

that's why I said, keep it private. But if he can bring Kate here with same outfit, better.

Maybe he learn it from the schools here! Lol!!!

quality goes with value for money you spent.

The education is costly in Qatar; so pay/invest more money for best quality education...it is simple calculation.

In the latest PISA Qatar made place 56 out of 57 participating countries. Does that answer your question about the "quality" of education here?
