Do you have a story of Doha's beautiful honesty to share?
Today morning, I saw a person ‘Fawaz Qtr’ post his experience on a group in Facebook.
From his post….
“To the kind person from Burger King- City Center Branch. A very sincere thank you for tracking me and returning my lost wallet which I lost last week.. thank you.”
It took my memory back to a similar experience I had a few years ago. My wife and I had gone to Hyatt Plaza for some late evening shopping. She wanted a waffle and went to the outlet there (I forget the name).
We ordered two waffles and upon delivery, went our way. More than a full day later, she realized she had misplaced her purse containing money, credit and ID cards.
We backtracked our steps and went back to the waffle shop. The person who served us before immediately recognized my wife and said he had found her purse.
He gave it to mall security who in turn took it to the nearest police station. We were thoroughly impressed with his honesty and tried to give him a little amount as a token of our gratitude. But he surprised us again by just keeping his hand on his heart and saying it was his duty. I can still recall his proud, beaming face.
We came away with our faith in humanity restored.
Whatever negative things people may say about Qatar, this is still the safest and most honest country we’ve ever lived in.
Please continue to keep your soul beautiful, Qatar. It’s unmatchable.
Yeah ! its a safe country
That's the truth ...............
Very nice stories all around,
It happened with us around 5 years before, my wife went into the toilet at city center food court to wash her hands, she took off 2 gold rings before washing, and after she finished she forgot it and left, the cleaning lady in the bathroom then followed us for a long distance and gave it back to her, she was a very nice lady, and sure she was in need, but she acted with high humanity and morals ...
and many other stories of Very humble Qataries helping me several times when my car is down, and giving me a lift home and even saving pulling our car when we got stuck in the desert ..
Qatar is really such a very nice and safe place to live.

acchabaccha : your story reminds me of an incident in Saudi where my Blond Australian colleague was offered a lift by a local
Left my car running and forgot my wallet and phone on the seat in plain view... Realized it when paying for my smokes in the store... Ran back to the car, sweet lady standing next to it waiting for me... She rightly told me I had been silly and then walked on to her car...
There are many times when Qataris see me walking down the streets in the hot sun, they stop their Land Cruisers and ask me if they could drop me somewhere. Sometimes, they even insist I hop on. Such lovely acts of kindness to other humans.
And of course, a lot of honest to good ness hard working people here ... Salute to all of you .. :)
"Qatar is indeed one of the safest place you could possible live in. " - Thumbs up ... :)
@ Sportacus: Very true, and also you all may recall, during the heavy rains months ago, a Jeep Club led by some local Qatari youths were out there to help people whose vehicles got stuck in the water clogged streets...
toblerones dont come cheap ya know!
I am saying so for a very long past ....... it's safest & honest place ...........
britexpat: half eaten toblerone would be the last thing you'd miss... lol
I recall once I took Sulieman's private taxi to Wakrah .. After paying him I left the Tiida and realised that I had left my man bag in the car. Luckily , about two hours later he turned up and returned the bag to me. Nothing was missing - not even the half eaten Toblerone
Well, impressive stuff! All stories of honesty are always heart touching! I do wish if all human beings know the value of honesty and live an honest life, we wont be having these wars/killings/destructions etc etc in this beautiful planet earth!
Honesty is the best policy!
There are many such stories. There is goodness in most people..
@Ani_Chy, beautiful experience, isn't it.
I also love how Qatari gentlemen, in their immaculate white thobes, helps you to change flat tires. All they need in return is a smile. Have been on the receiving end of their cheerful help more than once.
Good post, and I am sure there would be many to share some of their experiences too...here's mine:
Nearly two weeks ago, I was at Gharaffa, and while there, I went to a grocery store to treat me some chocolate and a cola. A Qatari along with his little daughters were also grabbing chocolates and juice as well. As I was about to pay for my stuffs, the gentle Qatari came up to me and said..."Consider your stuffs paid, you don't need to pay up". I was surprised at this, cause it's the first time for me. I insisted that I already had my money at hand to pay, and really, I wouldn't need this one, but the gentleman held his stance. Later on, the shopkeepers had told me, whenever he's out with his family and comes to this grocery shop, he always ends up paying for his plus the rest waiting in the queue because of him. I couldn't say anything else above that, but just thanking him for it...
