Depends. IF you watch too much of it and turn into a fat couch potato, then it's definitely a negative thing.

In the 80s a 100 year old American woman was interviewed and asked what the most significant event of her 100 year life. dont forget she had lived through both world wars, the moon landing, vietnam, the list goes on! But she said the biggest life changing moment for her was the invention of the TV. She said people got up off the porch and went inside and we never saw them again.

- Yeah, soooooooo many benefits. I travel vicariously via the travel channel, save loads of $$ and only choose to spend my hard earned money on selected destinations. Learn lots from my TeeVee. Also aids in studying boring subjects, as evident in my exam results.

Before I landed here, only 2 items specified as necessities - rice cooker and TV, nothing else. No bed, no problem, can sleep on floor, as long as there's a TV.
