Doha's Auto Mechanics are fresh from Jungle

Doha's Auto Mechanics are fresh from Jungle

Speak to an auto mechanic, and spoil your day.

While Doha has modernized its life style, its auto mechanics are still fresh from jungle, with no education, training and politeness.

Interact with them, any day, and your day is burnt out, with his soar tongue, because of his total raw, rude, and insultive converation.

On top of it, he would give you the quotation, so high, as if he has to repair an airplane, and not a car.

They are mostly not knowing their work properly because, Doha's auto mechanics are famed for fixing up one car problem, and creating two new problems in your car.

While Doha is progressing phenomenally in many areas, there is a need to give these jungle people a short training on how to  be polite and customer oriented.

What are that solutions, that could upgrade them all, so as to aliegn them with Doha's march towards modernity.

Good contribution, all of it highlights the necessity of Training and refresher course to be given to the auto mechanics.

If govt. takes note of it, all the auto mechanics can become trained mechanics within only 3 months.

Dear EquinOx,

In my opinion, if you just analyze the person who manage this shop, It would be an Expat. These Expat exactly knows how to play with their own community and the local community.

I am sure the earlier workforce who came in to GCC, have not set any example or systems. When each and every one say they came to earn money, and there is no life here. What kind of an outcome we can expect from the workers.

There should be a management with back borne to Say the sponsors We need such, then we can run this business. When most of the manager’s themselves who are taking a ride of the sponsor, what kind of operation you can expect.

Example : QP / Qatar Gas / Qatar Foundation, etc., : Why these organization’s employees are looked after well. Kindly advise me who are the management people of this. Bring those management people in to other sectors and let them set the example.

You enter rubbish in to the machine and you will get rubbish out of it.

Above is my personal opinion only.

(One of the suggestion to improve the quality, may be the owner of the vehicle will learn some think better than the mechanic, and guide Him to, do the job. Like I do to my car. After few failures, I have learnt a certain extent of the repairs. Even if I pay more, I pay knowingly)

(Also it’s very expensive for me to repair from the Company)

One secret ........ You may go to watch repair , electric kettle repair, your bike's fuel supply setting, for simple cough treatment , a cement patch at your door step , mending the sliding door of the wooden almirah , stitching a pant shirt ...... at all these places the professional skills have come down in the last 10 - 15 years .......... ........ forgive me for this observation ......

I suggest all the mechanics must come with an experience of min 5 years from a reputed garage if not from the dealers' work shops ...........

One mechanic quoted to fix the AC for Qar. 3 500 and the other did it in only Qar. 150.

There is a need to regularize their services and prices, as well as their customer services.
