Dress of the Day for Western Men
Just curious about normal office working dress. Here in Canada its now mostly business casual (open shirt and slacks). I start at QP in a couple of weeks. Should I be packing suits and ties or does business casual work for the most part there as well?
How about after hours? I've seen conflicting information. Are shorts OK or not for casual dress (I spent some time in Kuwait and all of the stuff said no shorts but while I was there shorts were common for Westerners)?
All information gratefully accepted.
Manpower Planning
Work clothes really depend on the job.
I worked in QP (HR) and wore a tie every day and a suit when it was chilly (yes it gets chilly) or for formal meetings.
Where are you working in HR?
The normal working dress is the same here in Qatar casual smart, open neck and trousers. If it's a formal event then jacket and tie is expected, as for shorts no problems in any areas i have been to, I wear them all year round coming from England.
If you are going to any of the clubs (Garvey;s and Rugby club excepted) then you may not get in in shorts.
Hope it helps
