Driving In Qatar

Assalam O Alaikum all,

What are the Qatari rules regarding driving if one has driving license from 2 countries:

1. Pakistan

2. UAE

I am in Qatar on a visit visa but would like to rent a car & drive myself for the convenience of moving around in Qatar. I have driving licenses from above mentioned 2 countries. Can I rent a car & drive or is that not allowed by law. Any good info on that will be a great help. Oreedoo SIM not allowing me to receive messages so I can neither download UBER/CAREEM/KARWA apps nor is the 'call back' option on those apps working. Is oreedoo telecom that useless? Finally, their technical support has contacted me but the problem still not fixed.

So I am really considering the option to rent a car. Anybody here with good info ?

@acchabaccha, I am also surprised. Their technical dept. cant figure out the issue with incoming SMS blocking of my SIM. That's quite surprising

Ahhh so I cannot rent a car? That's a bummer :-S

No UBER/CAREEM/KARWA & no rent a car also. Move around on my feet all 20 days in Qatar? I am sure I would lose several pounds & become pretty & slim by the time I get back to Pakistan :D

Just kidding :)

No, you cannot drive with licenses from those two countries. Neither of them is recognized in Qatar.

I am really surprised that you are unhappy with Ooredo as I never faced a problem with them and found their service far better than Vodafone.
