Emirates Boeing 777 catches fire at Dubai Airport
At 12:45pm Dubai local time today, Emirates EK521 was landing at Dubai airport on schedule when it burst into flames. Emirates has confirmed the incident happend on Wednesday, August 3rd and no casualties were reported.
The Emirates Airline official confirmed the accident in the following statement.
We can confirm flight EK521 from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai has been involved in an accident at Dubai International.

The Boeing 777 was flying from Thiruvananthapuram in India to its destination in Dubai, when its landing gear collapsed and fire broke out. More will be revealed later after investigation about the cause of the fire.

Take offs and landings have been suspended at the Dubai Airport for now after the accident with Boeing 777-300 A6-EMW, and customer assistance lines are going to open shortly to provide more details.

As per the latest news, one fireman laid down his life fighting the blaze which resulted from the crash landing.
May his soul rest in peace.
Great work from the pilot and cabin crew to get everyone off safe and sound. A landing with no landing gear is a difficult maneuver. But one the pilot will have practiced a hundred times.
