Escape From Bali and back.

And I thought turning right onto main road in Bali was difficult?
To turn left in Qatar you dare not to make a mistake.

This left and right turn is because, in Bali we drive on the right and in Qatar on the left.

I have been driving for the last 30+ years and I have never been so scare to drive as I did during my stay in Qatar for 4 moths. After all those years I have been driving it seems i need to re-learn some driving skills Qatari style fast, or I am going to be responsible for some prety road rage

In qatar it seems to be the facial expression worn by many divers.

Pent up anger like, lurks everywhere, just waiting for someone to make a mistake, so that the true blue Qatari drivers can speed up and chance lane in front of you cut to close.

I remember like most new comers to Qatar being somewhat terrified by the traffic and chaos on the roads.But after couple of moths diving in qatar I had adapted to Qatari style of driving.

Now I have been back in Bali for a moth and tinking WOW, here in Bali the road is soooo small. From one line road we, the drivers made it in to two line road + motor bikes that out number the cars on the road. But I have never heard or seen an exsedent like in Qatar. I now realised how it works. the reason it work is because of the lack of aggresson by the Balinese drivers.
