Ex-Pat Drivers...

By britexpat

Bloody Expat drivers should be re-trained... Last night going home, a jeep comes hurtling down on the opposite side of the road (my side) with its left turn signal (indicator) flashing.. Slammed on the brakes, glared at the driver and it was a stupid expat..

Got home safely, changed trousers, washed car seat, but still angry...

Having learned to drive in the US I struggled with driving on the "wrong" side for two years in Japan. 99% of the time I was fine, but every now and then I would just fall into old habits.

RP thanks for your expert advice on driving.. But Dude here if you have ten second rule.. you will have ten dickheads trying to cut infront of you.. So the best policy is keep up with a safe distance..

Did you ask him If he was a Qatar Living member?

I rather be defensive in my driving instead offensive. Always keep the 3 second distance rule, for DOHA you need a 10 second rule. Unfortunately, you are always going to find jackasses in the roads. I'm glad that nothing happen to you and you got home in one piece.

Otherwise, I don't want nothing happening to no one and specially you my other British counter part in QL.

well, i've had a local in big black LC, trying to park in my passenger seat today.

he was coming from the side road and decided to drive to the fast lane, through my car of course.

what a jerk! he didn't just try to push himself in, he just went right in.

i think i have scared him a bit though with all my screaming and horning :P
