The expat problem..
Folks... did u read on the article
http://www.gulfnews.com/nation/Employment/10164275.html
This is a very interesting problem that will affect all of gcc. I am looking at it from a purely HR issue, and it makes very good case study.
the situation leading to this are
1.money in land due to natural resource
2.so develop country
3.no people to work so get from outside
4.no laws to protect workers from outside
5.workers mayb ill treated with no money, stay etc..
6.workers protest
7.land throw them out..and get some more
8. same cycle from point 4.
and on top of this the local population of the respective countries think the expats are stealing jobs but not single local will do manual labour..except in Oman.. I have personally seen Omani waiters and drivers..and very nice people also..
anyway..i want to understand how do you think to reduce the problem? u think have laws to protect workers will help? that wil only help in getting more of them in the country..the issue of local people feeling will only escalate..
what ur say?
i am to be feel ---- there is to be a way to protest. if people to be ignorant ---- they are to be take less pay package. few or some people to be create tension and problem ---- rest to be want to work --- paid on time. for company who not to pay workers or to be delay pay ---- there is to be strict rules and fine ---- if not it should be done. some contry already to define minimum salary for workers who to be work in middle east.
critism later..first read what i said..
it doesnt take long for me delete..
smile..it never hurts..
