Guess we've all said it once... "We'll give it another two years, save up and go home" Nah... the laid back lifestyle is just addictive, going home to lots of walking, waking up real early to beat the hustle and bustle of big city living, relatives complaining, lots of relatives...
I think I can say I won't always be an expat. The plan is to go back home one day and since Aust is so multi-cultural and friendly, reckon I'll adjust very easily. I find home is where home is, life is what life is....live it.
Living out of one's country change one's perspective and views, broaden their horizon and going back, it is hard to find things as they are..everything seem smaller and life back home seem to be on a standstill. Expat I knew, almost always opt to settle somewhere else other than their origin country. There is most likely that once an expat, will always be an expat.
People who come out, stay out and find jobs I would call expat. There are those however who come on secondment form their foreign companies and stay 2 years or so and return. I would not class them as expat.
I have worked most of my life away from UK and could not return. My life is out here now :o)
