Ezdan studying plans for tallest tower

Ezdan Real Estate is studying a proposal to build the world’s tallest tower in Qatar, chairman Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah al-Thani has said.“This is the right time to consider such a project. We will implement it provided we got adequate land,” Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah told company shareholders at their AGM in Doha yesterday.

Hmmmm - Living as I do in an Ezdan compound, I hope the tower is built with a good deal more thought and attention to detail than the villa's they "throw" up - I've never seen such shoddy workmanship and finishing!!!

Leaning Tower of Doha anyone??

why GCC countries are concentrating on building up huge towers, they should have focus on developing industries in a competetive way, if they have extra large budget!!

Frankly this scares me!! Dubai's Burj Khalifa has Emaar behind it, who constantly are creating great quality developments with thought and attention to detail...Ezdan has a reputation for 'budget' mid to low income housing and VERY questionable workmanship and quality. This is one future attraction I'll give a wide berth, unless they spend proper money on proper companies to assist in the build! Emaar spent 5Billion+ Dirhams....so, a minimum of 10billion QR to be taller than the one proposed in Saudi?

Maybe Ezdan should concentrate on learning to walk before trying to win an Olympic 100m Gold medal!

This is great news for base jumpers, perhaps the next club to be formed.

They could have a revolving restaurant at the top in the shape of a Football...

Saudi announced something close to 3 KM height if I am not wrong in 2008 so they have to plan something even taller than that. Will be good fun for everyone involved in construction business. Start one in Qatar at 4 KMs then go to Dubai and tell them they need to join the race again, start a 5 KM one and so on..

Excellent idea.

The tallest tower is planned for Saudi at present and Doha should have one by 2022...

Looks like Dubai and Qatar are competing for the worlds biggest Erection!

Perhaps they could use all the Landcruisers in Doha stacked up.

That would sort out the safety on the roads and give them the highest tower.
