hi guys,

i wonder if there is anyone else out there in doha that feels the same as me, that the life that you thought you were going to have in qatar and the one you are currently living are worlds apart? we are a british family who used to live in saudi arabia for 5 years so we didnt just come here straight from the uk, my husbands company have messed us around and left us in debt!, we currently cannot claim any medical expenses as the company are changing insurance companys, that has left a 5 month gap and currently we have medical bills totalling 17,000qr and rising, as i'am currently pregnant and i'am currently under the care of the al alhi hospital as i have had many miscaridges and have to have the specialist treatment to have any chance of keeping the baby ( my 7th pregnancy). everyday something goes wrong in our house and we struggle with the owners to do maintaince on the free standing house ( now we know why it was empty for so long), i'am currently struggling to find a school for my son to start school in sept, why are they not keeping up with the demand for good english schools? the ones that are here are fully booked already for next year, some have huge waiting lists ( dess 2 spaces for primary with 30 on waiting list and 3 siblings on the list)!
my husband is trying to get out of the job that he is in but we dont have a hope of being released!, we also have 1yr left on the contract on the house so we are completley stuck and screwed!!!
i so want to go home, i hardly know anyone here and would love to have someone to talk to, my stress levels are at max and i really need to take it easy with being only 6 wks preganant we are hoping that we get past the 12th week as we have only done that once with our son!
is there anyone out there who feels the same and just wants to scream?

............that could have written the exact same story.

I cant really give you any advice because we are still currently going through it. Some weeks are good, others are bad. The big picture stays the same though.

My wife has all the same concerns as you. If you want to talk I'll PM my wifes number. You need some company to at least be reassured that its not just you.

Humanity is simply a parade of fools....and im right at the front twirling the biggest baton anyones ever seen.

I think you highlighted a key point to why alot of expats feel fed up. They don't have many friends.

People need friends to unwind, relax, blow off some steam after work, and do things with.

I know it's more than that, but if the company is messing you around, put a case together and dont let them get away with it.

Keep the faith, I eckon from time to time all of us go through/ have been through rough patches and bouts of depression.

my wife and I were pregnant with our 4 child and the doctors scared the living daylights by saying there was a very high chance we'd have a mongloid baby.those were tense days as you can imagine, but in the end faith triumphed and we now have a very beautiful baby girl. Alhamdollilah. It says in the holy Quran, no soul is burdened with more troubles than it can bear( as close a translation as I possibly could)

Trust the Almighty, InshaAllah these times will also come to pass.
