was there 11:30 because we wanted to make sure we got a good place to take pics. the wind was so cold and dusty but the sun was hot because it was noon after all. perfect combination for a major headache i had hours later.

yes, the VIP's came in VERY late and that was probably why everything started late. we were about to give up and leave by 3:30 but to our surprise, the show actually started so we stuck around. just so we can say we did not waste time for nothing. i figured that it was free after all and no one forced me to go there so there's no sense in complaining. after all, i'm used to these things happening around here. i was even sort of expecting it. i honestly thought it would start at 4 pm when the sun's not too hot anymore :)

once is enough though. i would not want to go through the same experience again.

The ad said 12 to 2PM true but the VIP's started arriving at around 230PM and then there was chit chats inside the tent, picture takings and cocktails (it was being shown on the big screen) while the audience waits patiently out there in the cold, so the show eventually started at around 330PM

just look at the other QLrs and u will see that every one had the same bad feeling about the same bad organizing way

by the way it looks like u r one of the team so take it easy and look into the lesson learned if u really like to IMPROVE

redtreble....

people here dont buy cars becuz of taste.... its simply becuz of the look at me and show-off factor....after all ur talking abt people who consider a land cruiser as a daily comute and an exceptionally made vehichle.. those silver-spoon-in-their-mouth dudes actually own a ferrari...coz its good to show - off in.... simple!

and as usual i was not disapointed for being disapointed at the organizers... typical... but nonethless... i finally was blessed with tht loud shriek and awesome look of tht amazing f1 car!!!

What's so great about a bunch of ugly cars moving up and down the road anyway?

ferrari and the organisers sucks !!!

hahahahahahaaaaa 'n in between to make the crowd calm, some locals took out their ferrari to show off, i saw some showing middle fingures to them n shouting "F" off !

"F" off ferrari 'n organisers who made the crowd wait for almost 4 hrs. to watch that bullshit.

I think Qatar has a lot to be learn of what they called "PROFESSIONALISM?" it was not a Joke waiting outside on a cold windy day especially with kids for that long.

Poorly planned, unexciting event. Waste of time.

I think it was poor organising. It was windy and cold and A lot of the people left by 2:30pm. The Qtel msg said it was due to start at 12pm upto 2pm. I also hear the RJ's announce that it would start at 12pm.

Furthermore, they said QNB R/A and then last minute it was changed to CBQ R/A... ?!?!?!

@Incoming - Don't worry about it. I think DC has shown himself up for the type of person he is on this thread.

Fair dinkum - the ad did say arrive between 12 and 2pm PROMPTLY for a 2pm event. Well, at some point after 2pm the two little eco cars plodded down the Corniche, which would have been great if they'd been followed by the road cars and then the F1 car. But no, instead we were treated to the spectacle of a water truck driving up and down filling barriers. The road cars were obviously sent round in a half-arsed attempt at keeping the spectators interested.

Insisting that everyone is there promptly for a 2pm show and then delaying that show until 3:30 is plain wrong in my opinion, and really shows a lack of respect for the public.

Doha-Chap - you are one nasty piece of work. Your signature spouts on about God, whereas your last post is an implicit death threat to redtreble. Nice.

I’ll make sure I bring some flowers to your funeral. Your favorite color.

What’s ur favorite color anyway? A dead full of venom, black flower.

Just like your heart

@Doha - Maybe, but at least I won't waste half my life waiting for people in this country trying to organise a piss-up in a Brewery.

redtreble: and with hateful, grumpy and whining personality like yours, I doubt you will live long enough to witness the WC happening in Qatar.

Too much hate and bitterness will bring you serious cardiac problems (:

@Incoming - To be fair, it was clear that the event would start at 2pm, so I wouldn't go as far as to say it was anything like a four-hour delay.

@Doha Chap - With a stupid attitude like yours, things will never improve in this country and your chances of hosting a successful World Cup will continue to diminish still further.

I am one of those who left around 3pm as it is very cold and I also ran out of patience waiting.. it is clear in the newspapers.. 2pm... but I wonder what time the real event started... I was there by 1:30pm .. very awful event.. bad image for Shell, Ferrari and Qatar :(

eliashamzo: thanks for sharing the pic’s bruv. I wanted to see the show soo bad! But then had to be in a meeting when it was being conducted. Better luck next time (:

fishermanalex" Perhaps you were too rude and provocative in the way you asked.

Redtreble/Incoming: no body made you wait. It was your choice to wait coz u wanted to coz u had nothing better 2 do that day (:

Agreed redtreble

Making us wait for nearly 4 hours in the cold and the wind with two small kids was, in my opinion, disgusting, and was a real display of arrogance by the organisers. Reading the drivel in the Gulf Times this morning rubs salt into the wound - all their talk of how pleased they were that everything went to schedule (in that case, why didn't they tell us to turn up at 3pm instead midday?), and how the display thrilled the thousands of spectators (80% of which had left before the Ferrari bothered to show up).

Yes, it was cool to see the Ferrari going around, but it was a disgusting way to treat people and my overall impression of the day (and of Shell, Ferrari and the motorshow) is massively negative.

Typical Qatari Organistaion. Didn't give a toss about the people coming to watch the event. Yeah let's just leave everybody standing round in the cold and then we'll just start it whenever the hell we like. The contempt they show for the public here is quite frankly, pathetic.

On a side note, is there not a single classic Ferrari in Qatar or is that a stupid question?

it starts too late than planned

no one had any clear information about the start time

and when i complained that on the QATAR MOTOR SHOW on face book they panned me

this way they drive their shows
