Fire Escape Routes in Schools

Based on the tragic incident which happened in Villagio (I believe which was avoidable to a certain extent), I wish to know what is QL members view on the Fire Exits, routes, assembly points in Schools.

Are the kids trained enough to find the way out in case of an incident in their buildings.

In the school I work in we have fire escape plans. Plus we hold fir drills twice a year. And the fire department comes to our school once a year to check to make sure everything is safe.

I could name at least two international schools which haven't had a fire drill for more than five years!

We have a saying: trust is good, but control is better.

No shalla, it's the responsibility of the supervising agency to assure that their requirements are met all time. What clearly fails in this country is the supervision and implementation of rules and laws. Sort of 'Wild East' here.

Why Suprime Council? Isn't it school's responsibility to have a plan and to know what to do in case of emergency??? Suprised? Nothing can suprised me in this country any more. We are all just angry and shocked..And to be honest, i do not believe that anything will be done to prevent it in furute. To many places need to be closed...

You should ask the Supreme Council of Education! But don't be surprised.
