firing on srilankan team
Another embarassing situation for Pakistan. Some sri lankan team members are injured.I as a Pakistani am ashamed of a certain minority that enjoys killing innocent people. We all arent terrorists, infact we are peace and loving and sick of such negative members of society that give the rest of us a bad name.
I just heard about this incident. Does any one know the details?
I have also heard that the team wasnt the target but it was actually an exchange of fire between two gangs and the srilankan team were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

A combination of ignorance, stupidity, archaism, primitivism, pride, thirst for power and incivism is what makes them fight and people defending one of the sides. They are not more than the 2 sides of the same coin awaiting to live centuries of civilized evolution!
World has created lot many problems for pakistan which inludes some countries who have opted to use force instead of peaceful method to solve the problems in Afganistan.
Afghanistan was left behind after Soviets were defeated and that was the biggest mistake. Pakistan is the only one who had imparted great stability to Afghnaistan and again it is written on the wall that they all support Taliban. Inida only wants to get away with Kashmir.
Even now in near future Only Pakistan can impart satability to Afghanistan in sense that Tliban again come to power excluding Al qaida. USA is realising the same what i had before here in Qatar living months back. India cannot play any role in Afghnaistan even it tries to do so or any one else more than Pakistan. If USA chances its policy of using force instead of intelligence it will be a better option.
Anyways Pakistan has to stop Taliban cerating havoc inside it at any cost.

There cannot be a blame on only Pakistan as there is a whole scale of disturbance in Afghanistan after the occupation and some concerned people in Pakistan are sure (with solid proofs) that even India is helping those insurgents to create havoc in Pakistan and to push Pakistan under islolation.

Attack on srilankan team is a sign of danger not for Pakistan but also for India as well. It can very well happen in India at anytime,i think that this event has destroyed the trust of the cricket teams else where in the world who plan to visit anywhere in south asia.

Omershah, I agree that INDIA TV is disgusting. It is engaged 24 hrs in pakistan bashing. Zee news,star news and aajtak are also similar channels but to a lesser extent. I would advise you to watch NDTV India if interested in Indian news. It is a secular news channel. INDIA TV has majority of muslim employees who are overenthusiastic in winning Hindu hearts to promote their channel. They don't however realise that this will only spoil their cause. I am also sick of watching these channels...

They mostly cater India based viewers. I watch them for fun and news report is also part of that fun.

This is a very unfortunate incident as far as cricket is concerned. What concerns me is the tendency of the Pakistanis to blame every thing except themselves. RAW, BRA may be my fart including. Victor pointed out rightly and as an Indian I strongly believe that a stable Pakistan is better in the long term interest of India.
Their population is feed on western and Indian hate in order to mask the failure of the ruling class and to sustain the huge spending army. They failed to provide any long term solution to their economy and manage on hand outs from donors.
I do accept that India too has its own problem of development and prosperity. But at least it is going in the right direction, progressing well and things are changing fast.
Unless and until Pakistan accepts that they have a serious problem as far as terrorism is concerned, this type of incidents will continue. It will have serious repercussions for the country and for the entire region.
I don't think there is strong political will to achieve this. Only time will tell what the future holds for that country.

Unidentified gunmen attacked the bus taking the Sri Lankan cricket squad and its police escort to a cricket stadium in Lahore, according to witnesses and cricket officials.
4-5 policemen have been killed as the police van escorting Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore was fired upon, reports say.
Security concerns have plagued Pakistan for years and some foreign sports teams have refused to play here.
