Fish pedicure?

Abu Dhabi: Imagine dunking your feet into a tank of lukewarm water only to have hundreds of tiny creatures chewing at them. As odd as the experience might sound, this newly popular procedure, called the Dr Fish Spa, has gained momentum in the UAE over the last year.

Medical experts however warn of the negative health risks of the fish pedicure.

As part of the procedure, a species of minuscule fish known as the Garra Rufa, also known by a variety of other nicknames like doctor fish, feed on dead skin on the customer's feet and ankles. The fish, which are found in river basins mainly in Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran, are toothless and nibble on the dead skin to remove it.

They could swap some of these little doctor-fish with small pirhanas for variations in sensations....innovation !!

They have this Fish Spa thingy here in Malaysia as well. But the tank is facing the shop window so it's kinda too open / public for my shy disposition hence, I've never tried it yet... Did not want to be part of the window display :-0

It's chic, and it's in. And with the limited "natural" pleasures in the Middle East, they will go for it. What else do they have?

Not hygienic for sure! you cannot sterilize a fish...lol people do anything for beauty... its cruel to make them starve and then feed on dead skin....:(
