Following-up with HR

hi everybody,

it has been now more than 2 months waiting for Visa, i am trying to follow-up with the HR but they do not reply in time and always late. currently i have another site interview in Qatar with big company and most propably to get good offer in next few days, i want to join the first compamny but i am waiting for the visa for long long long time. i tried yesterday to chase them aggressively but they did not answer the phone or replying to email even.

what do you see then, should i send email to them and decline their offer and tell them to stop everything regarding visa. or cancel the interview with new company.

what is the culture regarding HR follow-up in Gulf.

i am really really confused, any help will be highly appreciated.

regards.

groover,

it is not possible to arrange that at the moment,

LMNA,

i received the offer and signed it and sent it back.

my problem is that i can not go and tell them i have another job interview in qatar , please issue the visa quickly... this is very rediclus attitude from my side if i will do.

in all cases i have to wait the manager to come back and i have already raised the issue with him and i have already escalated that guy again politly.

regards.

Ask the people if you can do a phone interview or internet/webcam interview instead of a face to face one for the 2nd job, and explain to them that you have not yet received the Visa to entry the country.

And then wait to see what the 2nd company offers before you make any decisions.

you must have options and take chances for better ones, why not take the interview for your second choice ,anyway nothing to lose right...goodluck

i am not in Qatar now, so i can not face them personally, and in case i will be in qatar they would ask me about how i get in, and in this case i will not be able to expalin that i was in interview before coming to you ... it would be silly answer ..

i have already contacted the manager and sent him an email.

"Keep it simple" is the key.

Relax, don't burn any ships yet.

Go for the second interview, wait for the offer and negotiation phase.

mina... did this company provide you an offer letter? Did you sign it and sent back to them? sometimes HR people are pissed off with applicants who kept on calling and following up, have patience and wait for your visa. Visa formalities will take time if the company has no blocked visa availble for certain nationality, the company needs to apply and wait for the approval.

Since youre prescence is not here, you can arrange a friend or a relative to personally meet this HR guy.

we cannot decide for you... there are many factors beside that one should be considered: salary, benefits, Company status, employment safety..

we know nothing about it..

how can we advise?

if they treat you this way BEFORE the employment, can you imagine what will happen when you are already glued to them? Any time you need something from your HR, no one will answer the phone.. .you need to renew your RP – it will take for ages... you will need to exit Qatar – NO exit permit on time…. Disaster..

think twice before joining this comapny

Go and face them personally, or go directly to the manager and tell them your story. Before its too late. No more phone calls. Since you have all the formalities, dont let this oppurtunity of having a good job slip in your hands. Sometimes you have to knock someones head in order to get their attention. Goodluck.
