Goodbye Qatar

Goodbye Qatar

Kareena74
By Kareena74

I still cannot believe it myself, seems like a dream but the countdown has already begun and I am officially leaving Qatar for good after staying here for 34 years of my life.

I still remember that day when I landed at Doha airport (which wasn't anything like it is now) way back in Sep 1979 as a child of just 5 years.

During this span of time, I have seen Qatar grow tremendously from a small sleepy town of a total population of 150,000 to now almost 2 million.

I have so many beautiful memories of this place, done all my schooling here, started working here, had my first crush here, my first boyfriend, all memories have been in Qatar..

I have had the pleasure of having some absolutely lovely friends who have stood by me thru think n thin..

But the best thing that ever happened to me here in Qatar was the most beautiful coincidence of all times, that is to meet the love of my life, my soulmate, my sweetheart who is now my husband..

And now I am leaving the country which I considered my home for good so that I can spend the rest of my life with this man who I love more than anything or anyone in this world..

It has been a great time being on Qatar Living for the last few years and I hope I would get time to log on QL and find out the latest gossip about Qatar.

So here is wishing you all a happy life and all the best..

Baburao & myself agreed that kids start having a crush at very very early age , my understanding is 'some' have crush on the mid-wife .... immediately after birth ... LOL. ... I gave your name so that Baburao will believe when there's a living example ...

From 1979 or 1980 till 1988 and then I moved to PEC and that year 1988 all schools in Doha were asked to separate the boys and girls from grade 4 or 5 onwards but before then, that is till 1988 all expat schools in Qatar were Co-Ed till grade 10 or maybe till even 12. You can go to Pakshama now and check their records, they will confirm that they were Co-Ed till 1988.

My first crush was a guy in grade one.. We were together till grade 8 and then he moved to another school. Those days all schools, whether Indian or Pakistani were Co-Ed. But I never had the courage to tell him how I feel about him till I met him years later as adults when we were both in our twenties.. But it was too late because hae already had a gf then.
