Halo: Reach game breaks records
Less than one week after being released, the latest instalment in the Halo video game franchise has set new records for developers Bungie.
Halo: Reach topped the UK sales charts this week
According to Bungie 31 million games have been played.
It's also cleared hundreds of millions of pounds in sales around the world.
But whilst it topped this week's sales charts in the UK it was some way off being the biggest release ever.
According to video games charts company ELSPA it only managed to come in fifth overall.
It was behind titles like Modern Warfare 2 and GTA IV.
Record breaker
However, it did beat Bungie's record for the number of people playing online at any one time.
Previously held by its predecessor Halo 3, on the day Halo: Reach hit the shops more 700,000 were playing it at one point.
A spokesperson said: "If you counted yourself among the ranks and contributed to the mind blowing tally, we'd once again like to say thanks for playing!"
Later this year the game will face competition from Call of Duty: Black Ops, which some are predicting will take the title of biggest game of the year.
