Healthy Lunctime Food?

Having been in Qatar for over a year I am still struggling to find a place to grab a (healthy) lunchtime sandwich.

Having been used to a number of options in the UK (Pret, Subway, Quiznos etc), I am struggling to find anything comparable in Doha.

I work in the West Bay area close to the Sheraton and haave tried out the Four Seasons, which is c100QR's for a mediocre sandwich, the Movenpick tower which, whilst slightly cheaper is not a lot better value for money than the Four Seasons.

I know there is a Subway in the City Centre - however this has been closed down due to hygeine problems!!
I was never convinced by the cleanliness of that place as the meat always smelt off when I went to take a bite!

Where do people order there lunch from and are there any places close by to the Sheraton / Four Seasons that I have missed?

I think I have tried most places nearby, including the NY Deli in Beverly Hills Tower and the Cafe in the Qtel tower but none off them are that enticing or healthy!.

Does anyone know if the Quiznos in West Bay offers a delivery service as this is my final chance to avoid turning into another heart disease victim courtesy of Mc Donalds and KFC!!

vmI, I must try and solve your problem in 5 minutes to help you find a healthy lunch.

1 cucumber

1 tomato

1 khas leave

1 quarter onion

1 tin of tuna fish

2 slices of bread.

littile pepper and salt.

total cost is 10 riyals

put all of the above ingredients in a grinder or food processor and then make into a sandwich. Place the sandwich in a 'sandwich maker' you know the ones that heat up! Have it with a glass of fresh orange juice.

When you buy bread, buy brown bread from Giant Store it is high in fibre and healthy.

If you try this, you will never again buy a sandwich. Good luck and I hope you are not too lazy to do it!

Make your own healthy lunch. I don't know the hours you work but on one of your days off, you could prepare, green salads, pasta salads etc and the night before you work you could make a sandwich. That way you know it is healthy and been prepared in hygenic conditions! Only takes 5 minutes and it would stop all this agnst!

Quiznos

Or, why not get a shawarma sandwich at Diwaniyat al Bukhari in City Centre? Some of the coffee shops in CC also have sandwiches.
