High risk motorcycle based delivery system

You would often see a motorcyclist zigzagging his way even on the main highways, in pursuit of early delivery of food to his customers. However in the process, he is forced to risk his life when speedy and heavy vehicles tend to overtake and sideline him. Does this very high risk delivery system is essential and cannot we avoid it? Only yesterday one similar motorcyclist was hit and his helmet was lying on the other end of the salwa road, while he was being ambulanced to the hospital.

I always tip the delivery guys on motorcycles much better than the ones driving cars to show my appreciation for them risking life and limb to get that order to me.

Brit, thankfully noted, yet do we need someone killed while satisfying our demand of quick delivery.

Again it is not lawful to use a personal motorbike for commercial purpose, while other delivery systems are at hand, only the law needs to take action.

Equinox: "For a rich country, like Qatar this kind of cheap yet very high risk delivery system does not match with the country's status and standing"

The deliveries are made by those working for franchises or private companies. The costs of deliveries are factored into the cost of the item / service. Customers expect these deliveries to be prompt. In congested areas the motorbike is the only option. Bikes are used all over the world for such services. What makes Qatar any different ?

Yes,

Traffic Department, please read:

Small car can be a good alternative for deliveries. Motor bikes are always personal, how are those being used for commercial purposes, the law should take action.

Moreover the motorbike is considered a licensed vehicle, which has to remain in the lane and is not allowed to overtake from between the lanes, law needs to become active on this as well.

For a rich country, like Qatar this kind of cheap yet very high risk delivery system does not match with the country's status and standing.

Indeed it's high risk in the city like Doha, with lots of reckless drivers, avoiding the delivery isn't a proper answer, maybe they can use small cars instead of bikes. Sadly the delivery boys has to risk them selves coz of the desire of their management n boss, there was an accident few months back with my friend's vehicle, a delivery bike stabbed into my friend's back door of his LC, it was damaged totally, the point is, that delivery guy is riding the bike with expired road permit more than a year also he doesn't have driving license...
