I'm not quite sure, but I think a president can be elected only twice in Poland (the same person). But even if he could become a president for the third time, I think people were tired of him, and wanted a change (they didn't really appreciate him then; they do now instead :) Typical).

So they voted for Aleksander Kwasniewski, who looked good (much better than Walesa, and looks ARE important), and had a catchy tune for his campaign.

Walesa also got a peace Nobel price, in 1983.

heroes keep on trying until they succeed

losers fail in the first attempt and then they stop e.g.

When egypt, syria and jordan attacked israel they incurred heavy losses but what did they do they accepted defeat and they remember their defeat every year.. very BRAVE PEOPLE

As much as I despise Israel I believe they are a very brave, organized nation, not like the palestinians who are fighting for bread crumbs. In the long run the Israelis will win (A bitter fact).

What have the arabs done for palestinians?

In the West there are hundreds and thousands of palestinians living who are citizens and in the Middle East the palestinians are still refugees.

So decide for yourself who is your true friend. And where does Islam say that it is legal to kill civilians or bomb civilians, innocent children and women??

sentibhim Are you talking about losers or Heros?

Many of the Victorious ones were loosers on their 1st Attempt.

Chanakya the greatest Ancient Indian economist & Founder of the Mayuran empire failed his 1st attempt to overtake the throne.

Hitler too failed in his first attempt at Coupe & contemplated sucide very early in his Political Carreer.

Even a child never learns to walk on its 1st attempt.

no-one 'sang their praises'. No-one brought whatever they did to anyone's attention, so they weren't made famous.

Lech Walesa definitely does not work as an electrician at the moment :) He was a good president, he took Poland out of communism. He was jumping through the wall in Stocznia Gdanska, together with other workers... he was probably the only president who wanted to do something for the country, not only for himself.

He's - apart from the Pope - one of the most famous Polish people in the world, I think. And of course Maria Curie-Sklodowska :)

Lots of loose people in history dear.

royal families are a good place to start with excess proclivities.

so if you want historical titilation start maybe with the Medicis.

Lech Walesa was trained as an electrician. He was the head of the Solidarity movement. I don't think he's working as an electrician now though.
