Home made cake quality check.

Is there any regulations or checks to buy home made cake from home based baker? Like if we buy from shop or hypermarket they give us details but home based bakers are nit much interested in giving details.

How to check the quality and making date of the cake! And also how to check if food colors are of good quality too?

Home made cakes are pre order cakes...when you place an order it is made on the same day..so what is the problem..atleast clean than supermarket
