Horrible Accidents When Qatar Celebrates

Two horrible car accident along Al Waab street. Seriously Qatar, it's okay to celebrate and be happy for winning the world cup bid but that is not a good excuse for people to drive recklessly on the road!!! Imagine what will happen during the actual world cup everytime your favorite team wins! It's time for you get your act together It's still not too late. You still have 11 years to learn how to drive.

I wonder why 95% of Qataris and not are not actually fined.....and many times they do the worst things driving in front of Police cars....a fine is not enough; take the car. Until everybody is treated the same way, and people don't think they can get away with it, lots of incidents will continue.

It's a culture of respecting the rules of safety that you have to have and get into people's head.

Some people, irrespective of nationality, are bad drivers. Period.

Yup... Very sad indeed. I feel sorry for the innocent guy that got hurt (or worse, died) because of someone's irresponsible way of driving...

I have seen Libanese and Egyptians are the worse driver here. Being Arabic speaking, they consider their selves also like Qataris.

Joie - Most of 'them'with 'wasta'never have to pay!

Because for them, they "can" drive without seatbelts. I mean the only worse thing that can happen to them is to be fined by the police in which is very easy for them to get away at, because they can always pay the amount.

Point taken. But I must admit though that it's not all Qataris who are reckless drivers. Most of the time (or at least more often than not), it's the other Arabs who's even worse!

then how did you know that it was part of the celebration? i as know Qataris are reckless drivers with or without celebration, they need to practice self discipline first while still far to 2022.

Still cant understand why 95%+ Qataris do not wear seatbelts! It only makes situations like this 10x worse.

On one accident, the pick up truck was flipped upside down. The driver which is covered with blood was laying down on the grass being watched over by a police. He looks dead though. And about 800 meters from that scene, looks like another Land Cruiser and Toyota Corolla hit each other. The drivers were being loaded on an ambulance when we passed by the 2nd scene. No fire involved though...
