HORRIBLE BODY ODOR

brave_heart
By brave_heart

Last night, I & a friend went to a souq in Najma. I was delighted to see many shops with a lot of things to buy in cheap prices. Almost all were full of people.

So we entered 1 big shop, but to our disgust, SMELL IS HORRIBLE. The whole place is filled with VERY BAD ODOR. The STINK was not from something, but from the PEOPLE inside the shop. IT’S HORRIBLE BODY ODOR.

In just seconds I felt dizzy & almost vomited, so we came out & drove home.

That was not the first & only experience I had. Almost everyday & everywhere here in QATAR, I see, met, pass by PEOPLE WITH THAT HORRIBLE BODY ODOR. I can’t stop thinking if they know a simple/basic personal hygiene and I can’t imagine how they lived with that STINK.

ITS VERY DISGUSTING.

there are many things to see and experiance in our world

why all go around to see only beautifull sites and smell.?

our eyes should go all around..around the poor labours who are working hardly in sun to get a small wage.

they even dont have enougf money to have a proper food and dress.they struggled and filled together in a small room only to make a sleep.and a small place to do there personal needs..

to be hygenie is good and a need

but

we cant stubborn to say that every one should walk around with fragnance..

This summer, I was flying (in Mexico) from my city to Cancun, there where 4 of us, so we sat 2 and 2, but the rows where 3-3... so this guy sat next to me. As soon as he sat down, I noticed a weird smell. I just couldn't take it, for about 2 of the 3 hours of the flight, I thought these was body odor... when I dared to look down at the man... he was carrying a bag with a freakin' cheese inside!

geez.... 3 hours. At the end I was nauseous..

Correct PM.... dessimination of information regarding personal hygiene in different languages maybe a help... Sometimes i was thinking why the government don't give importance on public information about Hygiene. As this country is also aiming for exploration on Tourism, how could they attract Tourists if at their first step in the airport people around them don't smell good...

By anonymous• 12 Sep 2009 15:11

That should be translated in every language and handed out at the airport upon arrival.

As I stated in the other thread, they don't always have access to showers, soap and laundry facilities. But frankly, it is not really these manual laborers who are mixing in public so much causing this issue. They have very little time off and they don't have easy transportation, not to mention the fact that they are not allowed into the malls on weekends.

Let's face it -- and no one wants to say it -- there are certain cultures that have a different attitude towards cleanliness and passing the smell test. They don't seem to associate the odor wafting off them as something offensive and since they often spend time with others of their same culture, they don't see it as a problem.

I would never go to Najma during the evening or on a weekend; just like I also avoid the other places where these people congregate. I have to draw a line when they are in my place of employment or I am on an airline seated next to them. Otherwise just AVOID.

while participating in the South East Asia War games in the 60's it was the people with "good" personal hygiene that got found and shot first. Perfume and anti- perspirant is not natural. Most of these guys don't have the frigging leisure time you wankers have. They don't get to wander in and out of work and take multiple showers as you do. They ride company busses to and from work and live in camps in shared quarters. Get over it and let your housekeepers and nannies shop for you.

Body Odor isn't just about personal hygiene. Yes, you can try to prevent it and control it all you want, but you can't all the time. There are a lot of things that help build the smell up. Sometimes, the food. Sometimes, the clothes, type of fabric used. Sometimes the perfume. And sometimes the body itself. So, chill.

Maybe if you live in a room with 24 guys and share 1 bathroom with them, you wouldn't complain this much.

1. Take a bath everyday,.,as much as possible 2x a day, before going to work & before going to sleep.

2. Don't repeat your clothes specially if you sweat dried already. I'm sure, you have lots in your closet.

3. Avoid eating spicy food. It will comes out in your body smell more on your underarm.

4. Brush your teeth every meal or at least 3x a day as DENTIST advised us.

5. Use ANTI PERSPIRANT or well known Deodorant spray or roll. But be sure to take a bath before you use it!

Actualy, we've known these things since we were a child. From our parents, pre-school teachers, it's a matter on how we apply it to our selves. That's why it's called PERSONAL HYGIENE...

HERE ARE TIPS FOR YOU PEOPLE!!!

1. BATHE DAILY. Use soap to cleanse your body and shampoo to cleanse your hair. SCRUB YOUR BODY, ARMPITS & YOUR BALLS. BODY ODOR is OFFENSIVE and daily bathing will eliminate it. Good personal hygiene should be practiced every day.

2. BRUSH YOUR TEETH a minimum of twice a day. Your smile has a tremendous effect on how you are perceived by others. Dirty, YELLOW TEETH are not the image you want to present. In addition, brushing your teeth helps promote healthy teeth and gums as well as defeating bad breath. You may also use mouthwash to freshen your breathe.

3. GROOM yourself as needed. Keep your hair neat and tidy, trim your fingernails and toe nails and shave or wax regularly. Paying attention to the details of how you look is an important part of good personal hygiene. It keeps your skin and hair healthy and gives you a well groomed appearance.

4. APPLY DEODORANT. YOU MAY NOT NOTICE YOUR BODY ODOR, but OTHERS DO, and it's not acceptable. Everyone perspires, but smelling bad is not necessary. ALL KINDS OF DEODORANT, ANTI-BODY PERSPIRANT & PERFUME IS AVAILABLE HERE IN QATAR IN VERY CHEAP PRICES...PLEASEEE TAKE ONE...DEODORANT/ANTI-BODY PERSPIRANT IS VERY IMPORTANT given the climate/temperature here in QATAR. People sweat too much easily emmitting that FOUL BODY ODOR. DEODORANT/ANTI-BODY PERSPIRANT will prevent that.

Please know how to choose cheap but good SMELLING PERFUMES. DONT LET YOUR PERFUMES ADD TO YOUR STINK. And perfume alone wont be the TOTAL SOLUTION for your hygiene & grooming.

5. DRESS in CLEAN and well fitting CLOTHING. Cleaning yourself just to put on dirty clothing is not acceptable. All the clothing you put on should be clean regardless of whether it shows to the public or not. UNDERGARMENTS LIKE YOUR BRIEFS OR PANTIES need to be as clean and well mended as well as your outer garments. YOU NEED TO CHANGE UNDERWEAR EVERYDAY.

6. Drink the recommended amount of water each day. Enough water can freshen your body. Hydrated skin has a healthy glow to it that can not be duplicated.

7. Get plenty of rest. Your body rejuvenates itself as you sleep. You can erase dark circles, minimize wrinkling and be in a better state of mind by getting plenty of rest.

PLEASE LET US KEEP QATAR CLEAN & BODY ODOR-FREE!!!!!!PLEASSSSEEEE

There are two type of groups:

(i) Bad personal hygiene that they smell badly

QL should start a campaign to educate people of good personal hygiene e.g. regular showers/baths, brush your teeth etc

(ii) Natural body odor due to their eating habit or some other natural phenomenon.

Promote use of deodorants, perfume, mouth fresheners etc.

Even when you go to City Center on family day when all the laborers are outside, you still find people inside in suits and ties who smell totally disgusting.

Besides, if a laborer smells vile from working hard all day, the logic would suggest that he could go home, take a shower, and then go to the souq smelling fresh and clean. The stinky guys I've seen at souqs have all showered, but they still stink, possibly because they haven't heard of a thing called deodorant.

Some people just smell bad. Really really bad.

Is the reason their diet? Or are they just naturally stinky??

Do a root cause analysis and then find the solution to the problem.

Problem = labourers are smelly

Root cause = the are overworked...only one weekend off...and they only have one weekend to rest or do some shopping.

Solution: Reduce working hours for labourers, give them more rest time. give them more money (i.e. what they really deserve in terms of international salary scale).

You will see lots of positive changes.

Btw, bad smell is not a property of laborers only. Even hollywood stars (Robert Pattinson) stink! Here's the link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/filmblog/2009/mar/26/robert-pattinson-twilight.

How lucky people are to have so few worries in life that they can get so het up about such a (relatively) small issue. Those so called disgusting people you are talking about are too busy working to prevent their families from starving to expend such a great deal of energy on such things. They get one evening off a week, why can't people let them enjoy it.

If you have such delicate sensibilites I expect you find their lack of human rights, poor pay and utter poverty just as disgusting and distressing as their body smell.
