House Maid: Cost Trend & Recent Experiences

Dear All,

I have authorization to sponsor an indonesian house maid. I tried couple of agencies and the cost they tell ranges from 8800 to 9900 (including 1800 visa fee). This is quite high compared to few months back, when users on QL told that they paid something in 8000 range. Do you think it is because of Ramadan and prices will go down afterwards? BTW, same is the cost of philipine workers, though I heard the visa fee is 300 Riyal for philipines but it seems they have also raised it to 1800.

Also, If there is anyone on this forum who has sponsored a maid within last one months, please share your experience in terms of cost, quality and processing duration?

Regards,

Hire someone here. Just make sure she is legal. Bringing someone in fresh is a real risk, as she may not be used to being a house slave and may be on the surly side.
