Pothole Research - Love it! - much the same interests as me as well!

You would have loved the one that ripped the front wheel off my new Alfa Romeo last week in Spain. Doha has a lot to live up to...

I've seen one at Carrefour. Pretty basic, but costs only QR 250 approx. with a 11" B&W monitor.

Check on (or around) the shelves with power drills.

BTW, you can couple a regular webcam with the right software to turn it into a motion sensing camera with ability to broadcast online. Hence making remote monitoring possible.

Radioshack in the mall on D ring has these items, never tried them personally however as long as the connecting cables are of decent quality then interference from outside sources should not be an issue.

Motion sensors etc with timers (for night time or whilst out of the house) could also be integrated for 100% piece of mind.

As long as you dont have them pointed at neighbours bedroom windows then no privacy law should be broken either.

We came we saw we were Qatarized
